According to reports from Footballghana.com, attacker Isaac Atanga has joined Norwegian club Aalesund FK for an undisclosed amount.
The agents of Isaac Atanga arrived at Color Line Stadium to finish the paperwork. The player himself arrived at Vigra at 21.30.
Atanga underwent a physical examination and signed a deal with the tango jerseys there.
“This is a process that has been going on for several weeks, and it is very good to finally get Isaac in place. A fantastic boy who we look forward to seeing in our lovely orange suit in the years to come,” sports manager Bjørn Erik Melland said.
The Ghanaian attacker was acquired from American Major League Soccer side FC Cincinnati. Isaac Atanga is well-versed in Scandinavian football. He joined the Danish talent factory FC Nordsjaelland as an 18-year-old. Isaac Atanga arrived in Denmark through Right to Dream Academy.
Atanga took Danish football by storm, dominating the Superligaen. After a string of impressive performances for FC Nordsjaelland, he found himself on the radar of a number of big European teams. He was sold to FC Cincinnati after three years in Denmark. He has been on loan to Turkish club Göztepe since August of last year.
“We are very happy to get Isaac to AaFK. He is a young and exciting player with great speed. Isaac is a typical backroom forward or edge who can play in all 3 positions up the lane. We have good references on him both as a player and as a type,” AFK coach Lars Arne Nilsen added.
