Juventus matches Inter’s €40 million bid for Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku transfer saga has taken another turn with Juventus entering the picture by making a bid for the Chelsea striker.

While it appeared that Lukaku’s return to Inter was inevitable, with the player rejecting other offers and expressing his desire to rejoin the Champions League finalists, Juventus has now matched Inter’s bid.

They have offered €37.5 million (£32m/$41m) plus bonuses, which could reach €40m (£34m/$45m).

According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Lukaku is now refusing to communicate with Inter directors.

Juventus has informed Chelsea that they need to sell Dusan Vlahovic before finalizing the deal for Lukaku.

They hope to complete the Vlahovic transfer before August 4, which means the Lukaku saga might extend for several more weeks.

While there has been significant speculation surrounding Vlahovic, there is little concrete news regarding an actual bid for him at this time.

Chelsea would like to wrap the Lukaku deal up as soon as possible and would prefer to continue dealing with Inter.

How the saga unfolds is anyone’s guess.

Juventus need to sell Vlahovic before they can buy Lukaku, whereas Inter will have the funds to sign him once Andre Onana completes his move to Manchester United.
