Former Ghana Premier League top scorer, Eric Bekoe has backed the plans by the
Ghana Football Association to make the top-flight league autonomous.
The championship is currently run by the Premier League Management Committee of the FA, who replaced the Premier League Board (PLB) last year.
According to the former Kotoko striker, an autonomous league will help prevent external interference in the league.
“We should welcome the league being autonomous. The league will be managing itself where no one will say taxpayers money will be used in paying players and other stuff,â€
He adds that the Coronavirus pandemic could be a blessing in disguise for Ghana football as we can put a lot of things in the right place.
“The Covid-19 has been a blessing in disguise where we can structure things very well were there can be a bill stating every player will be paid below GH5000.00 which will make them stay in this country to attain the needed competition of the league rather than travelling outside.â€
