Chelsea revel in defeat “you’re nothing special, we lose every week” in United clash

Manchester United secured their spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season with a convincing victory over Chelsea on May 25. However, fans of rival teams did not respond positively to the news.

Chelsea entered the game after a 1-0 loss to Manchester City and having endured 15 defeats throughout the season, which left their supporters feeling pessimistic.

While facing the Manchester United fans, the opposing supporters taunted them with the chant: “You’re nothing special, we lose every week,” highlighting their team’s consistent struggles throughout the 2022/23 season.

United fans also showed their humour as well, as there were also chants from the home support that said something to the effect of ‘Super Franky Lampard’.

Chelsea have been in shambles this season, despite immense expenditure from new co-owner Todd Boehly, with Lampard becoming their third manager this season after the sackings of Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.

The Blues will certainly not be playing in Europe next season, with incoming boss, Mauricio Pochettino facing an uphill task of convincing some of the superstars to remain at Stamford Bridge.

United make statement with win

As far as the game went, Casemiro opened the scoring for the Red Devils before Anthony Martial made it 2-0 deep into stoppage time in the first half.

Bruno Fernandes then converted a penalty in the 73rd minute after a foul from Wesley Fofana, as Marcus Rashford completed the rout minutes later after coming on from the bench, as reported by the BBC.

Chelsea could only muster a consolation goal from Joao Felix as the Blues suffered their eight defeat in 10 games.

The only worry in an otherwise fine night for United will be the injury to winger Antony, who left the pitch in tears after a dangerous challenge from Trevoh Chalobah.

Salah blasts Liverpool over UCL

Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on Mohamed Salah’s scathing statement against Liverpool after his team failed to qualify for the Champions League.

This is the first time the Reds will not be in the top European competition since 2017, the same year the Egyptian ace joined the Merseyside team.

In a statement on his personal social media, Salah proclaimed there was ‘no excuse’ on Liverpool’s part for failing to be in the Premier League top four.
