Husband of renowned gospel artiste Philipa Baafi, Dr. Kwame Karikari has shed light on the reasons for his wife’s prolonged absence from the music scene.
He explained that Philipa had temporarily paused her music career to pursue further education, ensuring she stayed relevant in the industry.
Over four years, she dedicated herself to studying to become a physician assistant, including passing the licensure exams required for membership in the Ghana Dental and Medical Council.
In a video shared on Zionfelix‘s Instagram page and reported by GhanaWeb, Dr. Kwame shared the news of Philipa’s successful completion of her educational endeavours and her official return to music after this hiatus.
“We’ve been waiting for the right moment to share this news,” he mentioned, highlighting Philipa Baafi’s iconic status in the country’s music scene, marked by hits like ‘Go Higher’ and others.
