A shocking incident has left a family in Ejura seeking justice for their son, Agyekum. Allegedly assaulted by prison officers and inmates, Agyekum’s ordeal unfolded in a disturbing video that has sparked outrage.
In the video, men dressed in prison officer uniforms and others in orange attire—presumably inmates—viciously beat a defenseless man in white. Residents, witnessing the brutality, shouted in disbelief, “What is this? What at all is this!” in the local Twi dialect.
According to a woman, who appears to be part of Agyekum’s family, the incident occurred when he encountered the prison officers and inmates on the roadside. A near collision with a motorbike led to an altercation.
The officer allegedly insulted Agyekum, who responded in kind. What followed was a violent attack, leaving Agyekum injured and bewildered.
Despite reporting the incident to the police, the family remains in the dark about any arrests or progress. Four prison officers have reportedly since visited the victim and his family, expressing apologies and a desire to settle the case. But for Agyekum’s family, justice remains their unwavering demand.
