Prophet J.Y. Adu, founder of New Jerusalem Chapel, revealed that gospel musician Yaw Sarpong ceased attending his church after receiving a miraculous healing in 2012.
Sarpong, who was severely ill, experienced divine healing shortly after visiting the chapel.
Despite initially thanking God, Sarpong stopped attending regularly, visiting other churches in Accra instead.
According to Prophet Adu, Sarpong only returned after receiving death prophecies from other pastors.
The prophet expressed disappointment over Sarpong’s departure and mentioned ongoing spiritual care for him amid health challenges related to a stroke.
“I healed Yaw Sarpong in 2012/2013, and he came to thank God, but afterwards, he did not attend my church. He visited other pastors in Accra. I didn’t know Yaw until he came for healing at my church,” he explained in Twi. “He frequented various churches until he received death prophecies, which led to his return. His absence from my church hurt me a lot,” he added.
