Renowned Nigerian dancer, Korra Obidi, recently shared the reasons behind her public confession of infidelity with ex-husband Justin Dean, shedding light on her decision to reveal the truth rather than conceal it.
In an interview with News Central, the mother of two emphasised that her openness was driven by a desire to avoid living with a hidden secret and expressed no regrets, as it led to the revelation of concealed truths.
Obidi highlighted the importance of honesty, asserting that by acknowledging her commitment issues before moving to America, she unveiled a broader narrative that prompted both her and her ex-husband to come clean about their actions.
Despite facing criticism, she stands by her decision, emphasising the impossibility of sustaining a life built on deception.
“As you saw on the blogs, I admitted to that [cheating]; he [my ex-husband] admitted to a lot of things. So it was like we were both doing these things.
“And we would have been living in a lie to please the public. And how long can you do that? So I would never regret saying I was having commitment issues before I came to America. I never said this [my ex-husband] is the only man I’m going to be sleeping with for the rest of my life.
“So I dabbled. I admitted to it openly. And a lot of people insulted me for it but at the end of the day, I would never live with a secret to death.”
