Ghanaian rapper Medikal has revealed his decision to cover up the tattoo of his ex-wife Fella Makafui’s name on his hand, citing a desire to protect his future relationships.
Contrary to speculations of regret, Medikal clarified that his action was solely aimed at safeguarding potential new partnerships.
The revelation came amidst a viral video online showing the covered tattoo, sparking various interpretations among netizens.
During an interview on 3 Music, Medikal addressed the matter, emphasizing his intention to avoid potential complications in new relationships.
“I don’t want to be encountering issues with my new partner because of my previous relationship,” Medikal explained during the interview on April 11.
Regarding their separation, Medikal highlighted disagreements on multiple fronts as the underlying reasons behind their divorce.
This public statement follows his March announcement of the separation from actress and entrepreneur Fella Makafui, emphasising that they are now focused on co-parenting their daughter, Island Frimpong.
Medikal’s tweet on March 30 clarified their current status, stating, “Fella is no longer my wife; she is the mother of my child. We are now co-parenting, and everything is going well,” in response to a social media post that referred to Fella Makafui as his wife.
