We Owe Joselyn Dumas 3 Music Awards CEO

The CEO of 3 Music Awards Mr. Sadiq Abdulai has confirmed his outfit owes screen icon Joselyn Dumas after she hosted the 3 Music awards.

Dumas resorted to microblogging handle Twitter to rant and ask for her money to be paid.

Speaking on Morning Zoo on Saturday, Mr Abdulai said the development was not deliberate, adding they incurred a lot of cost after the event.

He said they are going through dire times, dispelling rumours that they made a lot of cash and only refusing to pay the actress.

“That is not the case,” he told the host of Starr FM entertainment show, George Quaye.

However, he has saluted Joe Mettle and his management for their patience and cooperation. He said it has been tough securing sponsorship for events.

“People tend to insult organizers for refusing to pay. The case is as a result of lack of funding. GhC500,000 was spent for the show and they still owe about GhC40,000. Despite all efforts put in place to appeal to people they owe for some time for payments to be done, some tend to use abusive words and even go to the extent of harassing us on social media,” Sadiq stated.

The problem of lack of funding is really affecting the entertainment industry, he said. “A lot of capable companies do not put effort into sponsoring events.”

Mr Sadiq hinted the show will be put on hold next year if he fails to secure enough funding.

Morning Zoo is hosted by George Quaye on Starr 103.5FM, every Saturday at 8am.
