Social media sensation Afua Asantewaa expressed gratitude for the significant economic and social impact generated by her Guinness World Record (GWR) sing-a-thon, despite falling short of breaking the world record for the longest singing marathon.

In an official press release addressing the outcome, Asantewaa acknowledged the widespread support from the public and stakeholders that facilitated the event’s execution.

She expressed satisfaction with the opportunities the singing marathon provided for people to gather and revel in their favourite Ghanaian songs, fostering a festive atmosphere reminiscent of an open house party for families and friends.

The statement highlighted the positive economic value created for vendors and commercial entities that participated in the event.

Asantewaa emphasised the unexpected benefits for local businesses and the broader community.

Grateful for inspiring young individuals to dream big through the challenge, Asantewaa looks forward to more opportunities for showcasing talents in the Guinness World Records (GWR) and similar ventures.

She extended well wishes to fellow Ghanaians inspired by her initiative to set their own records.

Despite the GWR’s announcement last week that her attempt did not meet the required criteria, Asantewaa gracefully accepted the results and expressed a desire to learn from the experience for future endeavours.

The GWR cited a failure to adhere to specific rest break timings as the reason for the singathon’s disqualification.

In response to the GWR’s premature announcement of the results, Asantewaa revealed that the organisation breached their contract by publicising the outcome before she had access to the official email sent on February 12.

Despite facing challenges in accessing the email, she had promptly informed the GWR about the issue.
While appreciating commendations, feedback, and criticisms from disappointed individuals, Asantewaa acknowledged media misrepresentations and considered them a valuable learning experience for personal development.

Assuring her fans and the public of her unwavering focus, she announced a short break for quality family time and promised to unveil her next projects in due course.
