Media personality Afua Asantewaa recently opened up about the hurdles she faced on her journey to the singathon, emphasizing the intense preparation required for her Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt.
Describing her experience as a mix of highs and lows, Asantewaa mentioned the challenges she encountered, including straining her voice during her performance.
“After over-straining my voice, I experienced a crack which was quite difficult,” she shared, highlighting a particularly tough moment during her performance.
Despite these difficulties, Asantewaa completed her Guinness World Record attempt.
However, she was surprised when a video of her cracked voice went viral, becoming a trending topic and even spawning memes on social media platforms.
During a live interview with Emelia Brobbey, Asantewaa mentioned the unexpected viral fame of her cracked voice video.
She also shared how Nigerian celebrity Mercy Johnson reached out to encourage her to continue persevering in her journey.
Reflecting on the unexpected turn of events, Asantewaa remarked, “If it weren’t for my cracked voice going viral, how would someone like Mercy Johnson, a renowned Nigerian celebrity, have reached out to support me?,” Afua Asantewaa stated.
