Actor Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt has formally requested a Los Angeles court to remove “Pitt” from her name.
Born to Hollywood icons Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Shiloh took this legal step on her 18th birthday, May 27.
Angelina Jolie initiated divorce proceedings from Brad Pitt in September 2016, though their separation’s details remain unresolved, awaiting a settlement.
Simultaneously, they’re embroiled in a legal tussle over Chateau Miraval, a French winery they co-own.
Shiloh, their third-oldest child among six, follows in her siblings’ footsteps regarding name changes.
Earlier, her 15-year-old sister Vivienne altered her surname in a Playbill for a Broadway production.
Similarly, in a 2023 video, their eldest daughter Zahara introduced herself with the surname Jolie upon joining a sorority.
Despite being an accomplished voice actor in Kung Fu Panda 3, Shiloh is the first to officially petition for a name change among the siblings.
The legal request coincides with ongoing developments in Jolie and Pitt’s divorce saga, stemming from incidents dating back to 2016, including allegations of physical and verbal abuse.
This contentious battle also encompasses property and business disputes, prominently featuring Château Miraval.
