Ghanaian politician and entertainment entrepreneur Baba Sadiq has expressed no regrets about his comments and behavior towards Reggae/Dancehall musician Stonebwoy. Sadiq maintains that the full lessons from their dispute will only be clear once the matter is fully resolved.
This controversy follows Stonebwoy’s absence from the 3Music SallahFest in April 2024, despite being announced as a headline act alongside his rival, Shatta Wale.
In a June 12, 2024 interview on Joy Prime, Sadiq affirmed his stance, stating, “I don’t have regrets about anything; I just learn lessons. I don’t think there have been any interesting lessons for now. But it’s still a process. We have to get to a particular end before we look back and reflect on things.”
Background:
Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, owner of 3Music, explained that Stonebwoy’s manager was unhappy with Shatta Wale’s addition to the concert lineup, which influenced Stonebwoy’s decision not to attend.
Sadiq had accused Stonebwoy of being a “two-faced hypocrite” and disrespecting his wife, further alleging that Stonebwoy’s public image was misleading. Sadiq also accused him of being privately unpleasant, arrogant, and a “violent abuser of women.”
In response, Stonebwoy has filed a defamation lawsuit against Sadiq, seeking GHS 3 million in damages.
