Ghanaian reggae and dancehall icon, Jupitar, recently delved into the hurdles he faced while attempting to balance his booming music career with family life.

In a candid interview on the “Uncut with D-Black” show, Jupitar labeled the music industry’s demanding nature as “suicidal” when endeavoring to establish a family.

Despite recognizing the inherent difficulties, he admitted to occasionally making compromises in an effort to strike a harmonious balance, acknowledging that sacrifices are an unavoidable aspect of his dual responsibilities.

Jupitar underscored the ongoing struggle to synchronise his music career with family obligations, emphasising the inevitability of sacrifices to navigate both realms effectively.

“Even aside from maturity, music itself is a complex business. Combining music and family is incredibly tough. It’s a challenging decision for a musician to settle down while still pursuing this demanding career. It’s suicidal, I won’t lie.

“I try as much as possible to sometimes bend the rules. Even if I come home at ten, I might come home the next morning. I won’t make it a regular occurrence. Striking the right balance is quite difficult,” he added.

Jupitar stands as one of Ghana’s prominent reggae and dancehall artists, renowned for hit songs like “Money Box,” “Enemies,” and “Smile.”
