Chef Faila crowned Most Promising Young Northern Woman of the year

Culinary expert Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak popularly known as Chef Faila, renowned for her Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt in Tamale, earned recognition as the Most Promising Young Northern Woman of the Year at the prestigious sixth edition of the Northern Excellence Awards.

Abdul-Razak’s remarkable cook-a-thon not only aimed for a world record but also garnered attention for the Northern Region, drawing tourists to its culinary delights.

Organised by the Celebrities Charity Development Foundation, the Northern Excellence Awards honour individuals and organisations making significant strides in the development of the northern sector.

Recognitions span across various categories, highlighting excellence and impact.

Special recognition citations were bestowed upon notable figures including Rafiq Iddrisu, Ibrahim Jabir Mohammed, Makid Bilal, and Ibrahim Abu Hassan Rhyzo, for their outstanding contributions to their respective fields.

Among the main award recipients were Haruna Mahama, Alhassan Abdul Karim, and Dr. Doliwura Zakaria, lauded for their exemplary roles as Media Personality of the Year, Young CEO of the Year, and Strategic Investor of the Year, respectively.

The awards ceremony also honoured organisations such as the Savannah Women Integrated Development Agency and individuals like Alhaji Amin Iddrisu for their remarkable societal impact and humanitarian efforts.

Madam Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Alhassan Ali, and Mujahid Ahmed Bello, known as Fancy Gadam, were also among the distinguished awardees, recognized for their outstanding contributions in various fields.

Alhassan Abdul-Latif, Executive Director of Celebrities Charity Development Foundation, emphasised the awards’ purpose of shining a spotlight on those driving progress and development in northern Ghana, showcasing their achievements to the world.

“This initiative seeks to recognise hardworking individuals, brands, politicians, corporate institutions, sports personalities, and entrepreneurs who are excelling in their fields of endeavour while projecting the north for global attention,” Alhassan Abdul-Latif stated.
