Ghanaian entertainment expert, Arnold Baidoo Asamoah, renowned for his contributions at Despite Media, has initiated a one-man crusade, accusing Afua Asantewaa of dishonesty regarding her recent sing-a-thon disqualification.
In an exclusive segment on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review with Kwesi Aboagye, Arnold Asamoah claimed that Asantewaa deliberately concealed the outcome of her attempt.
Arnold argued that corporate entities had chosen to collaborate with Asantewaa under the impression that she was a potential winner.
Fearing repercussions on her professional relationships, Asantewaa allegedly chose to withhold the disqualification news, a decision Arnold believes could tarnish her reputation as a trustworthy individual, making it challenging for businesses to associate with her.
“It would have been more prudent for her to be transparent about the situation, as no brand wishes to be associated with dishonesty. Contrary to the claim of receiving the news while preparing for a show, the decision to conceal the truth may have significant consequences,” remarked Arnold Asamoah during the program.
Officials at the Guinness World Records disclosed why Afua Asantewaa was unsuccessful with her singathon attempt.
“Afua Asantewaa’s singathon attempt was not successful due to guidelines around rest break timings not being met. These rules are standard across all of our ‘longest marathon’ records,” PR Executive for the Guinness World Records, Alina Polianskaya replied to a mail by Joy FM.
In response to the announcement of her disqualification, Afua wrote on social media that she received the news of the outcome of her sing-a-thon attempt just moments before hosting a gala dinner and the launch of the Lebanese Scholarship Alumni Network, attended by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
She stated, “I would announce my next line of action in a few days. Thank you all for your love and support.”
In the meantime, she has been appointed Tourism Ambassador by the Ghana Tourism Authority.
