Ghanaian Chef Ebenezer Smith has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
Beginning on February 1, Chef Smith aimed to surpass the existing record.
His achievement was announced via a press conference on July 2, 2024, where he was officially awarded the record with an impressive time of 802 hours and 25 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 119 hours and 57 minutes held by Irishman Alan Fisher.
Chef Smith’s marathon, which took place at the Amadia Shopping Centre in Spintex, Ghana, concluded in March 2024 after an astounding 820 hours of continuous cooking.
Throughout his extraordinary challenge, Chef Smith received support from a range of celebrities, including Nana Ama McBrown, Clemento Suarez, and Kwaku Manu, among others.
His effort was sponsored by the Amadia Shopping Centre, where the event captivated audiences and garnered significant attention.
