Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay recently revealed on UTV’s ‘UCook With Empress Gifty’ how a personal heartbreak inspired her hit song ‘Survivor’.
She shared that the emotional turmoil she experienced during the breakup served as the creative spark for the song, emphasizing that heartbreak is a universal experience.
Wendy Shay humorously reflected on the breakup, describing it as one of her best decisions that has left her feeling happier and more fulfilled.
She acknowledged that her busy lifestyle may have played a role in the relationship’s end, advising others in similar situations to prioritize balance to sustain their personal relationships.
“Maintaining relationships requires dedication and effort,” she noted. “Without finding that equilibrium, even the strongest connections can falter.”
Currently single, Wendy Shay expressed contentment with her freedom and highlighted that ‘Survivor’ has resonated strongly with audiences in South Africa, where it has become one of the top Ghanaian songs.
Released in 2022, ‘Survivor’ was produced by MOG Beatz, with its captivating music video directed by Prince Dovlo.
