Ghanaian rapper Phrimpong recently discussed the challenges he faced in his music career.
In an interview with Accra-based Hitz FM on June 27, 2024, he explained that relocating from Kumasi to Accra significantly improved his opportunities in the industry.
He acknowledged that while Kumasi has produced successful artists, Accra’s dynamic environment provides better access to the music market and industry professionals.
This proximity has accelerated his progress, making the journey smoother compared to staying in Kumasi.
“The location has also been a challenge, I must admit, being in Kumasi has had, not to say a bigger, a bigger toll on the journey.
“There have been people from Kumasi who have made it big. I know some of my brothers who did it from Kumasi.
“But I think being here (in Accra) also lights up the energy, because I think here a lot of things do go on, you get closer to the market, you get closer to the people who are doing the thing itself. It speeds up the process for you,” he said.
