Ghanaian dancehall and reggae artist, Stonebwoy has reiterated his status as a married man, for which reason he wouldn’t fight anyone.
He made the disclosure during an interview with Accra-based radio station Asaase Radio on June 12, 2024.
“I’m a married man; I’m solid, you know. I’m not in any rivalry with anybody. This is a good opportunity to let the world know that you know I’m in no rivalry with anybody,” he stated.
This comes after his self-acclaimed rival and fellow dancehall artist of the 25th TGMA, Artiste of the Year, Shatta Wale, accused and attacked him over a cancellation of his performance at the University of Ghana’s James Nelson Top Yankah Hall Week celebration (Wave Africa Artiste Night ).
He went on to emphasise that “you can all see. I just have to state that we can all see a beef when you get replies. A rivalry is when it’s back and forth. So it’s not worth it, not qualified to be called a rivalry,” he affirmed.
Both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were slated to grace the University of Ghana Campus with their performances on June 8. Stonebwoy was set to take the stage at Limann Hall’s karaoke night, while Shatta Wale was booked for the JT Nelson Yankah Hall artiste night.
However, just hours before Shatta Wale’s scheduled performance, organizers of the JT Nelson Yankah Hall event received an unexpected directive instructing them to refrain from allowing Shatta Wale to perform.
Interestingly, Stonebwoy’s performance went on without any hitches or interruptions.
This discrepancy led to widespread speculation and rumors, fueled by the longstanding rivalry between the two artists. Many conjectured that Stonebwoy might have utilised his connections with influential figures and authorities to hinder Shatta Wale’s performance.
