Media personality Ola Michael has addressed actress Nana Ama McBrown‘s recent remarks regarding cooking shows on Ghanaian television.

He argued that the concept of hosting a cooking show on TV isn’t proprietary, having been a longstanding presence in the media landscape.

Citing the inaugural cooking show on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in 1937, he highlighted the multitude of similar programs hosted by various individuals globally since then.

During an interview on Neat FM, Ola hinted at some media figures’ apprehension about the upcoming cooking show by gospel artiste Empress Gifty on UTV, fearing it might overshadow theirs due to Despite Media’s considerable influence.

“Ever since cooking shows debuted on BBC in 1937, countless such programs have been produced worldwide. The concern arises due to the platform provided by Despite Media, potentially making this show stand out and prompting comments like, ‘God has indeed blessed you.’ However, it’s essential to acknowledge that blessings aren’t limited to just one person,” he remarked.

Recall that McBrown, speaking during a phone interview with Medikal on Onua TV, addressed what she perceived as efforts to replicate the success of her show, ‘McBrown Kitchen.’

In their conversation, Medikal expressed interest in appearing on ‘McBrown Kitchen’ to showcase his culinary talents.

While acknowledging others’ competitive endeavors, McBrown reiterated her faith in God: “While I support anyone’s efforts to make a living, those truly blessed by God will always shine.”

“We are elevating things to another level. I’ve noticed some people actively developing cooking shows, but those whom God has truly blessed will stand out. Despite our shared need to eat, those genuinely blessed by God will radiate,” she added.
