Charles Taylor calls for dissolution, relegation of Hearts of Oak

Former Hearts of Oak forward Charles Taylor expressed his desire for the club to face relegation from the Ghana Premier League.

Taylor, a key member of Hearts of Oak’s treble-winning team in 2000, believes that relegation would provide closure for fans amidst a challenging season.

Additionally, Taylor proposed the dissolution of the club’s board, citing a perceived loss of the team’s iconic “Never say die” spirit.

“I want Hearts of Oak to go to relegation. They should dissolve the Hearts of Oak board because there’s no ‘Never Say Die’ spirit in the team again,” he said on Angel TV.

“If necessary Hearts of Oak should go to relegation because their supporters are going through a lot,” he added.

Hearts of Oak currently sit in 14th place on the table, holding onto a slim two-point margin above the relegation zone.

This precarious position follows a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Their recent form has been dismal, with the team suffering four losses and managing just one victory in their last five matches.

With only three games remaining in the season, the Phobians face a crucial opportunity to salvage what has been a disappointing campaign.
