Peace FM Entertainment Review host Kwasi Aboagye has revealed details of a conversation with Medikal‘s mother about her son’s recent behavior.
Aboagye stated that Medikal’s mother encouraged him to openly discuss and criticize her son’s past misbehavior and disrespect towards Despite Media Group, even suggesting reprimand if necessary.
The veteran entertainment journalist disclosed that Medikal’s mother offered an apology to the staff of Despite Media and its proprietor for the offensive comments her son made during a dispute.
“Medikal’s mother reached out to me. We talked about two main points. She gave me the go-ahead to speak on her son’s matter, even if it meant criticizing him. She also wanted me to publicly convey her deepest apologies to Despite Media Group for her son’s actions. She’s sorry for whatever her son said about Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, Fadda Dickson, MzGee, and others. She said that it is not her son’s usual behavior,” Kwasi Aboagye said during the Entertainment Review show on Peace FM.

The controversy arose after Medikal’s O2 Indigo concert when MzGee, during a phone interview, asked about his message for Fella Makafui, leading to an irritated response from the rapper. Medikal criticized the question and later made derogatory comments about Despite Media on social media, accusing MzGee of unprofessionalism.
Prior to this incident, Medikal had announced his separation from Fella Makafui on Twitter, stating they were no longer married but co-parenting. This led to a public social media fallout, with both parties unfollowing each other and Fella removing ‘Mrs. Frimpong’ from her username. The 4-year-old marriage has yet to be legally annulled.
