Nigerian singer Portable Zazu, also known as Habeeb Okikiola, has found himself in the spotlight following his recent arrest by the Nigerian police.
The arrest was related to an alleged unpaid debt involving the purchase of a black Mercedes-Benz GLE 350.
A leaked letter of undertaking, reportedly signed by Portable Zazu earlier in January 2024, has surfaced online.
The document outlines the terms of his agreement with a car dealer, revealing that the car in question was not a G-Wagon as initially rumored but a Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 worth N27 million.
Portable still owes N14 million according to the undertaking.
Adding to the controversy, a voice note purportedly from the car dealer has also emerged on social media.
In the recording, the dealer can be heard urging Portable Zazu, who heads the Zeh Nation label, to settle the outstanding balance or return the vehicle.
The dealer’s insistence on payment led to the singer’s arrest, as per the agreement’s clause allowing repossession without refund if payment is not made.
The unfolding drama sheds light on the financial dispute surrounding Portable Zazu’s luxury car acquisition, captivating social media audiences and making headlines across Nigeria.
