I am a human being, I make mistakes, I was vexed – Medikal addresses rant after MzGee interview

Ghanaian rapper Medikal has addressed his recent outburst at the media after his return to Ghana after a successful show at London’s Indigo at the O2 on May 3, 2024.

A day after his concert, Medikal was asked about the movie premiere of his wife, Fella Makafui, during an interview on UTV’s entertainment programme, United Showbiz.

Host MzGee inquired if Medikal had any well wishes for Fella Makafui ahead of the premiere of her movie ‘Resonance’, just as Fella had done for his London concert when she appeared on the programme a week earlier.

Unhappy with the question, Medikal told the host that it was inappropriate in the wake of their divorce. He later recorded videos on social media, launching attacks on the host of the show, the owner and managers of the station, and the entire media in Ghana.

He even cautioned the media not to ask him useless questions upon his return to Ghana.

However, when he arrived in Ghana on May 14, 2024, Medikal apologized for his actions, stating that he didn’t intend to disrespect anyone.

Speaking with JoyNews, he revealed that since he is human, he also makes errors and renders apologies after realizing mistakes made.

“I love the media because they support my work, but I am that type of person, if you come at me, I will give you a response. Maybe my response might sound or come off as a disrespect, but I don’t intend to disrespect anyone. I am a human being and I make mistakes. I apologise for using certain words if I did, but within that heat of the period, I was ‘vexed’. I am not a robot, so obviously, I have feelings, but all the same, I want to say a shoutout to all the media houses who support me,” he said.

The ‘Too Risky’ hitmaker expressed appreciation for the love shown by attendees of his Live in London Concert held at the Indigo at O2.

The sold-out show featured artists such as Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Jay Bhad, Sister Deborah, Efya, Bisa K Dei, among others.
