Famous gospel musician Cwesi Oteng recently revealed his critical role in raising financial standards within the gospel music industry in an interview with Afia Coke on TV XYZ’s Xzone.

The “God Wey Dey Bless Me” hitmaker claims that by becoming the first gospel musician in Ghana to charge 15 Ghana cedis for concerts and adopt a 50 cedi ticket cost for his events, he initiated a huge shift.

Oteng reflects on the early 2000s, highlighting his groundbreaking initiative to pay Danny Nettey 600 Ghc, setting a new benchmark for compensation within the industry.

Emphasising his role as a pioneer, Cwesi Oteng shares his early adoption of charging 15 cedis for gospel music performances and introducing a 50 cedis ticket fee.

Furthermore, he claims to be the first artist to provide financial compensation ranging from 200 to 300 cedis to fellow gospel artistes, a practice that was uncommon during that era.
