People who live in Khan Younis in southern Gaza say they experienced a very heavy night of air strikes, which was one of the worst since Israel’s offensive began.

Videos showed fire in the sky and loud sounds of bombs and gunfire in the city.

Families who were forced to leave their homes because of the fighting are now running away from a nearby hospital.

At the same time, Hamas is sending medicines for Israeli hostages. In return, they are getting more aid for Palestinian civilians in a deal mediated by Qatar.

The White House says Qatar has been having important talks about a possible new release of hostages. A US representative was also involved in the discussions.

Yasser Zaqzouq, who is staying at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis with his family, said this is the biggest noise from fighting [between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian fighters] he has ever heard.

“We never saw air strikes like this before. ” We were very afraid. All the children were yelling and crying.

Tariq Dahlan, a reporter from the area, said: “People who have been forced to leave their homes are very scared and worried at the hospital. “

“People are fleeing to the West, but they don’t know where they’re going or what will happen to them. “

It was said that Israeli tanks were very close to the hospital.

The Jordanian army’s hospital in Khan Younis was really damaged by Israeli shelling on Wednesday. The Jordanian army said that Israel broke the rules of international law.

The UN says that the war has forced most of the people in Gaza to leave their homes and live in crowded shelters where it’s hard to get things they need.

A group of UN experts said in a statement that everyone in Gaza is hungry, a quarter of the people are starving and having trouble finding food and clean water, and there may be a famine soon.

Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, said that Israel’s military operations against Hamas in the southern area of Gaza, including Khan Younis, will be ending soon. It is believed that leaders of the armed group may be hiding there.

He said the military started using more focused attacks in the northern area where they began their ground attack.

But now, some people from Gaza are thinking again about going back home because they saw that Israeli tanks have comeback to some areas in the north.

Israeli army leaders have said many times that the fighting will keep going for months.

Qatar is sending medicine from Doha, Qatar to El-Arish in northern Egypt. It will then be taken to Gaza. This is part of a deal Qatar made between Israel and Hamas.

The plan had been announced before, but it got stuck because of problems with organizing everything.

It’s not known how the medications will be given to about 45 of over 100 Israeli hostages who are sick and need life-saving drugs.

The Israeli prime minister’s office said that people from Qatar in Gaza will be involved, and the Red Cross may also have a role.

The deal also includes a big increase in medicine for Palestinians.

On Tuesday, the White House spokesman, John Kirby said that they are hopeful that a new deal to free the hostages could be made soon.

Qatar and Egypt, who are important negotiators, have made plans to have them released if the fighting stops.
