Ghanaian artist, Mubarikatu Issaka, a resident of Akwatia in the Eastern region, has embarked on a remarkable challenge at the Xtreme pub in Akwatia.
Dubbed ‘Artist Barry’, the 29-year-old is striving to set a new record for the longest individual painting marathon.
The current record stands at an impressive 100 hours, achieved by Nigerian art student Chancellor Ahaghotu earlier this year, breaking a decade-old record.
However, Artist Barry is pushing the boundaries further, aiming to surpass 130 hours of continuous painting within six days.
As of May 4, Artist Barry has already logged more than 90 hours of painting, demonstrating incredible dedication and endurance.
To comply with the rules, she takes short breaks , five minutes for every hour of painting or a 20-minute break after four hours.
Having already spent six days and 10 hours on her ambitious journey, Mubarikatu Issaka remains determined to complete a 7-day Guinness World Record paint-a-thon.
