A well-known media personality, Andy Dosty, has shared a haunting incident from his high school days on his Daybreak Hitz show.
He described it as his “worst nightmare,” involving an unprovoked and violent act towards a fellow student named Obeng Asare, which caused severe injuries.
Andy Dosty admitted that he had hit Obeng Asare’s forehead with a machete during a situation where they were asked to weed. In a moment of foolishness, Andy attempted to hit the pail off Obeng Asare’s head, but it ended up striking his forehead.
Regretful of his actions, Andy Dosty was terrified when he saw the victim bleeding profusely. The incident resulted in severe punishment for Andy, and the victim had to undergo surgery due to the severity of the injuries. Fortunately, the surgery helped hide the mark left by the incident.
Andy Dosty’s story comes in the wake of another violent incident at Adisadel College, where a student was caught on video assaulting a junior in a dormitory. Reflecting on his past mistakes, Andy expressed concern about the wrongs and mistakes students can make in school.
As a consequence of the recent violent incident, the responsible student was dismissed from the school. The student who recorded the incident and other witnesses who failed to report it will also face sanctions.
Additionally, the house master and his deputy will be held accountable. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a statement demanding the student’s suspension and involving the police due to the nature of the assault.
