The Akufo-Addo and Serwaa Broni scandal, which gripped public attention, involved alleged romantic involvement between President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and a Ghanaian woman based in Canada known as Serwaa Broni.

Serwaa Broni in a series of revelations claimed that Akufo-Addo had proposed love to her several times and even took her on a trip with the presidential jet to Kumasi for a funeral one time.

She claimed to have ‘accidentally’ taken a photo of the president on the flight as she unknowingly captured Akufo-Addo’s reflection in a mirror that was behind her.
