A widely circulated video unveiled the harrowing personal ordeal of Zelia Sulemana, leading to her sentencing to death row after an act of self-defence.
Zelia, affectionately known, recounted a heated altercation with her friend Rawdia that took a fatal turn.
Zelia explained that the dispute escalated when Rawdia, her friend, used a knife to stab her three times in different parts of her body.
In an attempt to defend herself, Zelia managed to disarm Rawdia and inflicted a fatal wound in the process, leading to Rawdia’s untimely death.
Following the incident, Zelia found herself behind bars and later faced a court trial, resulting in a death row sentence.
Zelia expressed her side of the story, asserting, “We had a verbal fight, it escalated, she stabbed me three times. I retaliated once, and unfortunately, it proved fatal for my friend. Rawdia’s family has yet to forgive me.”
