Renowned media personality Johnnie Hughes has taken A-list celebrities to task for their conspicuous silence during the ongoing power outage crises in the country.

Hughes, known for his candid commentary on various issues, singled out prominent figures such as Yvonne Nelson, Van Vicker, and DKB for their perceived lack of response to the current situation.

During his morning show, Hughes did not mince words as he accused the celebrities of turning a blind eye to the recent power outages that have been affecting the nation.

Expressing his disappointment, he questioned why these well-known personalities, who had been vocal in the past, were suddenly silent in the face of the current challenges.

“Yvonne Nelson, Van Vicker, DKB, why are you not demonstrating like you did in the Mahama era? Why are you quiet all of a sudden?” Hughes queried during his program.

He went on to reference Yvonne Nelson’s notable ‘dumsor’ demonstration in 2015, which took place during the administration of former President John Mahama.

At that time, the country was grappling with a severe power crisis, commonly referred to as ‘dumsor.’ Nelson’s demonstration drew attention to the issue, and the government subsequently took steps to address the power crisis.

Hughes seemed to imply that if these celebrities were willing to protest during the Mahama era, they should be equally vocal and active now that the country is once again facing power challenges.

The media personality’s comments have sparked discussions on social media, with some supporting his call for celebrities to use their platforms to address societal issues, while others argue that the power outage situation might be more complex than it appears.

As the controversy continues to unfold, it remains to be seen whether A-list celebrities will respond to Johnny Hughes’s critique and whether they will take a stand on the current power outage issues affecting the nation.
