Techiman residents took justice into their own hands after catching a thief who had stolen a bicycle.
As a unique form of punishment, they tied a long rope around his waist and assigned him the task of cleaning the town’s choked drains.
During his new duty, the thief, while still cleaning, was interviewed by a local TV station.
He admitted to stealing the bicycle and took the opportunity to advise other thieves to abandon their criminal ways.
“Those stealing, please stop and find some work to do,” he pleaded during the interview.
As the interview was ongoing, an unexpected incident occurred. One of the men present, without any apparent reason, slapped the suspect, adding to the thief’s public humiliation.
Other bystanders expressed their disapproval of the unwarranted action displayed.
