  • Turkish side Gaziantep FK put up out-of-favour midfielder Yusif Chibsah on sale

Turkish SuperLig side Gaziantep F.K are ready to sell three players including Yusif Rahman Chibsah in the ongoing transfer window, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Chibsah joined Gaziantep FK on a two-year deal after ending his two-year stay at Frosinone Calcio.

The defensive midfielder enjoyed a marvelous first season at the club but endured a difficult time in the second season, making only 24 appearances in all competitions.

The 27-year-old played just 9 minutes of football in the side’s last ten matches to the end of the season.

Chibsah alongside Souleymane Diarra and Bartomiej Pawlowski are reported to have fallen out with the club which informed coach Marius Sumudica to exclude them in his squad for the final game of the campaign. The cause of the fall-out is however unknown.

The reports indicate that the Red and Black outfit have communicated with the trio to find a new club before the start of next season.

Gaziantep finished 8th on the standings with 46 points after 36 round of matches.

  • JE Sarpong’s ‘wee’ comment unfortunate – Yusif Chibsah

Former Asante Kotoko captain and FIFA football agent, Yusif Chibsah believes that the weed(marijuana) comments from veteran coach J.E Sarpong has the tendency of bringing the already tainted Ghana Premier League brand.

Coach J.E Sarpong some days ago alleged that over 60 percent of Division One League and Ghana Premier League players are weed addicts.

He went further to say that ” the late Ghana FA chairman Ben Koufie one time he had to buy marijuana for Robert Mensah before he kept the post for the Black Stars”.

Adding his voice to the discussion, Chibsah who is the spokesperson for the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana(PFAG) in an interview with GhanaWeb said the comment from the veteran coach is just unfortunate.

“It’s quite unfortunate, I’m not here to condemn what he said or to testify that it is true or not but my point is that it is an open secret. Even in Europe, you might have players who smoke weed.”

“But here we are in a country that we’ve gone through a lot of issues Anas expose, Normalization Committee and now COVID-19. We have gone through a lot and we are now trying to rebrand the product- Ghana Premier League and then this comment comes.”

“If you weigh the options, such comments do more harm than good to the players and the Ghana Premier League. There could have been a better way to channel this issue than the way coach Sarpong said it blatantly on air. We are in contact with the GFA’s medical team to put in measures that will deter the players from such an act.” Yussif Chibsah told GhanaWeb.

  • I have done nothing wrong – Yusif Chibsah to Kotoko

FIFA intermediary Yusif Chibsah insists he cannot be blamed for the standoff between Asante Kotoko and Esperance over the unpaid transfer fee of Kwame Bonsu.

”I have not done anything wrong. I really feel sorry for the club for this situation, but please people should not blame me. I have not done anything wrong. I did the best for my player and the best for Kotoko,” the former club captain revealed in a Facebook post.

The ex-Ghana international helped transfer his client to the Tunisian outfit for a fee of US$ 150,000 in June last year but the defending champions have since defaulted in paying.

It is revealed that Esperance want to offset that amount with an US$ 180,000 debt owed them by Kotoko for illegally registering their player Emmanuel Clottey.

The Ghanaian giants registered Clottey even though the striker had a running contract with the Tunis-based side.

This situation means the Porcupine Warriors will to pay an additional US$ 30,000

”At least I didn’t know there was a debt of US$ 180,000 that Kotoko were supposed to settle with Esperance and that’s why all this issue is up,” he added.

Yusif Chibsah has been accused of stoking the fire between the two clubs having pocketed his is 20% commission on the deal.

But the former Ghana 23 captain has dispelled all that.

”There have been a lot of rumours and stories that I personally benefited from this transfer,” he explained.

”Some are even saying Esperance have paid a lot of money to me as agency fee and because of that I’m not doing any effort to get Kotoko to get their money. These are all false.

”I have not benefited 1 euro or 1 dollar from this transfer. I have not taken any commission from Asante Kotoko or Esperance. Nothing. No money at all.”
