  • Trabzonspor reject Celta Vigo, Al Hilal offer for in-demand striker Caleb Ekuban

    Trabzonspor has rejected an offer from both Celta Vigo and Al Hilal for sough-after Ghana striker Caleb Ekuban, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

    The two clubs are the leading suitors for the signature of the talented Ghanaian alongside Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers.

    Spanish side Celta Vigo and Saudi Arabia Pro League side Al Hilal have submitted an offer of €5m and €4m for the striker.

    But both offers have been rejected with the Turkish side interested in any bid less than €7m.

    Since joining from Leeds United, the Ghana star has been a standout performer in the Superliga side, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists last term.

    Despite being restricted by a two-month lay-off, he managed to make 34 appearances for the Turkish side where he shone to alert a host of other clubs about his immense quality.

    Caleb Ekuban says he is fully focused on winning trophies with Trabzonspor amid interest from several clubs across Europe and elsewhere.

    The 26-year-old has been targeted by Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers while Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal are ready to splash €10 million plus-a-player for the in-form Ghana striker.

    But the former Leeds United striker wants to focus on the Turkish side.

    Ekuban told Fotomac: “Trabzonspor has added a lot to my career. I found myself here and very close to my dream of winning a Championship. My priority is winning trophies with this team.”

    “People love me and trust me. Although I had an injury , I returned well. I am in an environment where I am happy doing my job in the best way.”

  • Al Hilal eye player-plus-€10 million bid for Caleb Ekuban

    Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal are considering a €10 million plus-a-player offer for in-form Trabzonspor striker Caleb Ekuban, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.

    The Turkish giants snapped up Ekuban initially on a loan deal from English side Leeds United, before signing him on a permanent deal last summer.

    The Ghana international has shone in Turkey and is now being linked with a potential move away from the club, with Celtic, Rangers and Lazio all claimed to hold an interest in securing his services.

    But Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal could steal a march on the aforementioned clubs as they considering a bumper deal for the 25-year-old sharpshooter.

    Reports reaching GHANAsoccernet.com indicate that the xx want to table a 10 million plus Syrian striker Ömer-Al-Soma in a bid to convince Trabzonspor to part ways with their prized asset.

    Al Hilal coach Vladan Milojevic is said to be keen on signing the former Chievo Verona hitman when the transfer window opens.

    Ekuban, who has a contract with the club until June 2022, has netted 8 times in 25 games this season.

  • Caleb Ekuban completes Trabzonspor attacking trio to contribute century of goals

    Ghana forward Caleb Ekuban has joined striking partners Anthony Nwakaeme and Alexander Sorloth as the trio contribute a century of goals for Trabzonspor.

    The 25-year old is having a good campaign with the Turkish Super Lig side after netting eight times this season, despite playing as an auxiliary striker.

    In two seasons, Ekuban has scored 25 goals for the club and created 9.

    His attacking partner Anthony Nwakaeme, has scored 24 times in two seasons creating 20 more in assist.

    The duo were joined by Crystal Palace forward Alexander Sorloth, Trabzonspor’s leading scorer this season, having found the back of the net 25 times and made 6 assists.

    Trabzonspor are currently top of the Super Lig table due to the contributions of the three players upfront.

    Despite their attacking prowess the trio cost the club less than 7 million Euros.

    Ekuban’s versatility and top performances has seen him attract interest from Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers with serie A contenders Lazio also linked with the attacker.
