Swiss Super League club FC Basel has signed Ghanaian defender Daniel Theophilus Asiedu from Berekum Chelsea.

Asiedu, who plays as a centre-back, has previously represented Ghana at the U17 (Black Starlets) and U20 (Black Satellites) levels.

He had trials with Basel and completed them in January last year. However, his signing was delayed after medical tests revealed an old cruciate ligament injury that had not fully healed.
