Former Ghanaian highlife music sensation, Andrew Alexander Nii Akrashie, OJ Blaq has passed away on August 17, 2023, just a year after he publicly embraced Christianity.
OJ Blaq had faced a life-threatening situation when he was diagnosed of kidney failure. Following a remarkable recovery, he devoted himself to religious ministry through song.
Tragically, OJ Blaq’s demise surprised many, especially as anticipation grew for his debut gospel album, ‘Show Dem’.
Videos emerged after his death, in which he recounted his struggle with kidney failure and his spiritual transformation.

Previously, OJ Blaq had shared his decision to transition from secular to gospel music after his near-death experience.
He attributed his revival to his renewed Christian faith and emphasized the importance of using music to positively impact the younger generation while glorifying God.
