  • Team no ay3 yie oo – Ghanaian celebrities react to Black Stars win over Switzerland

    Social media has been filled with cheers and excitement especially from Ghanaian celebrities, following the Black Stars impressive 2-0 win against Switzerland in a warm-up friendly on Thursday.

    The Black Stars defeated Switzerland after series of losses in their last two friendly games in preparation of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, scheduled for November 2022.

    The national football team put a smile on the faces of Ghanaians after defeating Switzerland in a pre-World Cup friendly game after many lost faith in the team.

    Following the end of the game, many Ghanaian celebrities took to Twitter to share their joy and pledge their support to the Black Stars.

    The likes of Sandra Ankobiah, Serwaa Amihere, Nana Aba Anamoah, Lydia Forson, Pappy Kojo and many others have taken to their social media walls to react to the Black Stars win in various ways.

    1. Sandra Ankobiah

    The lawyer earned a title as a prophetess after correctly predicting the outcome of the Ghana- Switzerland game.

    Before the match scheduled for Thursday, November, 17, 2022, Ms Ankobiah had in a tweet predicted a 2-o scoreline against the Swiss team.

    “Ghana 2 – Switzerland 0”, she tweeted.

    After the full 90 minute play, the Black Stars indeed came out victorious after two beautiful goals from Muhammed Salisu and Alidu Seidu.

    2.Nana Aba Anamoah

    Popular media personality Nana Aba Anamoah commented on the quality of the current Black Star Squad, stating there had been an improvement.

    3.Serwaa Amihere

    The GhOne presenter Serwaa Amihere also earned the title “Serwaa the prophetess” after predicting Ghana would win the game against Switzerland.

    4.Lydia Forson

    Award-winning actress Lydia Forson took her celebration to another level by sharing a video of herself rocking her Afro as she happily screamed “goal.”

    5.Pappy Kojo

    Ghanaian rapper Pappy Kojo expressed confidence in Ghana winning the 2022 World Cup after experiencing the Black Stars’ victory.

  • Wendy Shay bullied Serwaa Amihere, Nana Aba Anamoah – A Plus

    Popular social commentator, Kwame A Plus, has taken a dig at Wendy Shay for sarcastically throwing jabs at the likes of Nana Aba Anamoah and Serwaa Amihere in one of her songs.

    In a song titled ‘Heat’, Wendy was said to have capitalized on wordplays and mischief in a bid to poke these individuals.

    It can be recalled that the said individuals trended on social media some time ago when an anonymous account on Snapchat alleged that Serwaa Amihere and Nana Aba Anamoah were intimately involved with some politicians.

    But when this discussion popped up during a discussion on UTV’s United Showbiz, A Plus called Wendy out for being a hypocrite.

    He wondered why Wendy, who he said was once a victim of cyber bullying, has resorted to treating people the same.

    “Wendy Shay was one of the most trolled musicians. She has really suffered in this industry and even produced a documentary highlighting the numerous times she had been bullied.

    “We were all sympathizing with her but recently she has also bullied some people in her song. She has a song where she was throwing indirect jabs at Serwaa Amihere, Nana Aba. Today, you can mock celebrities. You know how to sarcastically jab people,” he asserted.

    It can be recalled that during an earlier interview on YFM, Wendy Shay denied that her ‘Heat’ song was directed at people.

    “This is a deep song and this is a song I want to leave to the consumers for them to digest and also take their point of view. I want everybody to be able to decode how they understand the songs by themselves. I never mentioned any names,” she stated.

  • Serwaa Amihere reveals her hidden talent – Video sparks reactions

    GhOne TV news anchor, Serwaa Amihere, is more than just a journalist, she possesses some singing talent as well!

    Serwaa decided to show off this hidden talent, serenading Ghanaians to some gospel music in a video released Sunday.

    Serwaa in the video is in a car and singing along to Piesie Esther’s massive hit, ‘Waye Me Yie’.

    Amihere delivers a stunning rendition of the single, showing some vocal range.

    She’s not exactly Celine Dion, but she did enough to sound good and impress netizens.

    Fans gushed over the beautiful anchor, who despite often being embroiled in controversy, is beloved to an extent.

    Reacting to the video, fans showed admiration for Serwaa’s talent.

    “Awww she sings so beautifully 😍❤️,” an IG user wrote.

  • Serwaa Amihere advises Ghanaians to stop eating imported chicken; advice sparks debate online

    Ghanaian broadcast journalist Serwaa Amihere has advised Ghanaians to stop eating imported frozen chicken.

    Her comment comes after an observation by the Association of Ghana Industries. The institution stated chicken and other meat products undergo a three-year preservation process before being imported to various African countries.

    A post by the popular Ghanaian TV host on her verified Twitter account, which read;

    Stop eating imported frozen chicken . The AGI says per it’s record imported chicken and other meat products are preserved for at least , 3 years before reaching destination markets in Africa , especially Ghana

    John Dumelo advocates for the use of shea butter in preparing food amidst the high cost of cooking oil

    Elsewhere, Ghanaian actor, farmer and politician John Dumelo has proposed using shea butter as a cooking oil instead of the commonly used cooking oil.

    John Dumelo shared his thoughts on his social media account amidst the hike in prices of cooking oil. He wrote;

    Natural shea butter oil can be used for cooking and it’s in abundance in the Northern part of Ghana. So why are we not promoting its use?

     

  • Illegal miners don’t pay tax strengthen mining regulations – Joe Wise to gov’t

    The first Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei-Owusu has said the government should strengthen regulations in the mining sector to prevent those engaging in it wrongly.

    Speaking in an exclusive interview on GHOne TV with Serwaa Amihere, the deputy speaker indicated that the government must not incur cost in an area he is not getting anything from.

    According to him, mining per se is not the challenge but mining irresponsibly is the issue, adding that they are not protecting the water bodies.

    “Mining has gone on but in a very irresponsible and so regulations should be harder. But the point is that with all the people making the money the government does not even get a portion. So why should the government continue to hire more people and spend it there?

    “Already you are overburdened and the people who are destroying the environment are not putting it back. If there is a way you can get some revenue from them that’s fine. But, one, he is stealing and he doesn’t have a license either. No account for anything revenue he gets and yet you are to add to your cost?” the MP quizzed.

    He has however absorbed the government from the responsibility of creating jobs.

    According to him, the government’s responsibility is to create an enabling environment for businesses to strive.

    The lawmaker also described as outmoded the expectation from people blaming the responsibility of job creation solely on the government.

    “The time that the government took the responsibility for creating jobs is long gone. The government’s position is that I will provide the enabling environment for you to create the job for yourselves.

    “So we should stop placing responsibility where you should not. A lot of the time we make people feel that it is the government’s duty to do this and that and people don’t do what they can do for themselves,” he explained.

    Mr. Osei-Owusu added that he is leaving politics and therefore can voice out, “I will speak boldly on what matters. If we want to move forward people must take responsibility for their lives.”

    She explained that, this revelation was made by Nana Aba herself and she wishes someone comes out to surprise her with her dream gift.
