Fella Makafui’s elder brother, Richard, took to social media to respond to accusations made by rapper Medikal.
He clarified that their family’s silence should not be interpreted as ignorance, launching a series of claims against Medikal.
In a widely circulated video, Richard challenged Medikal’s displays of wealth on social media, asserting that Fella has significantly financed his career by funding music videos and providing other forms of support.
He accused Medikal of arrogance and exaggerating his success, questioning the authenticity of his assets, including cars and buildings, and suggesting that some were acquired with Fella’s financial help.
“Did you not sell Fella’s car to finance your Range Rover purchase? Your boasts of numerous cars and properties are unfounded,” Richard stated in the viral video.
He continued, “You claim to have many cars and buildings, but these claims are untrue. Descend from your high horses.”
Richard detailed specific instances where Fella had supported Medikal’s endeavors, such as renting a house for his music video shoots, including the ‘La Hustle’ video.
“What has Fella ever not done for you? The house in which you recorded the ‘La Hustle’ video was rented by Fella. You are very proud and arrogant, always walking with your shoulders high like a peacock,” he fumed.
Regarding the breakup, Richard refuted Medikal’s narrative, asserting that Fella initiated the split. He criticized Medikal for wasting Fella’s hard-earned money on frivolous expenses and highlighted instances of such behavior.
“You act like you initiated the breakup, but it was Fella. A married man leaves home for more than three months and doesn’t return. When you finally come back, you take the money she earned and run away with it. Or when you need money for a video shoot, you beg her for it.
“You’ve been speaking carelessly. She spends over GHC7,000 on groceries, only for you to squander it with your hungry friends in a short time,” he said.
Richard warned Medikal against underestimating Fella’s support system, emphasizing that their family is ready to defend her against baseless accusations.
“Our family may stay silent, but that doesn’t mean we won’t defend ourselves.
“Fella may choose not to talk to show maturity, but that doesn’t mean you can go from radio station to radio station misbehaving. Don’t think she has nobody to defend her. Fella has a strong family. Do you really know Fella? Do you know her story? She comes from a well-off home,” he retorted.
He also cautioned Medikal against involving their mother in their disputes, responding to claims about Fella’s mother invading their privacy.
“Don’t drag our mother into your mess,” Richard admonished, concluding his response to Medikal’s allegations.

In a press statement, Fella confirmed the end of her four-year marriage to Medikal, expressing disappointment over the public airing of their grievances, which she believes has tarnished her reputation. The statement, dated May 18, 2024, announced the amicable dissolution of their marriage, with Fella emphasizing her commitment to legal action to ensure her and her daughter’s well-being and to establish proper co-parenting arrangements.
