Music producer Joseph Appiah, known as Quick Action, has referred to the troubling health situation of popular musician Okomfour Kwadee as a “family matter.”
A recent video showing Kwadee looking emaciated and unkempt while performing has sparked serious concern among fans and industry stakeholders about his mental health and financial condition. Kwadee has had multiple stints in rehab over the years.
Quick Action, speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, revealed that he last heard from Kwadee in November 2023 when the artist mentioned attending a family reunion. Upon seeing the video, Quick Action expressed his inability to comment further due to the family’s involvement. Despite attempts to reach out, Kwadee’s phone number was unresponsive.
“No matter how much you love someone, you can never take medicine for them,” Quick Action said, reflecting on the limitations of helping someone in need.
Quick Action also shared his past experiences of assisting Kwadee, which sometimes led to public criticism and accusations of exploitation. He recounted an incident where he was accused of using Kwadee’s earnings for a trip to London, despite Kwadee having received the payment himself.
Others, including Abraham Ohene Djan, Ogunskele of 2Toff Fame, Hammer Nti of Pure FM, and Evangelist Lord Kenya, have also faced difficulties in their efforts to help Kwadee, often hindered by his mother’s resistance to outside intervention.
Quick Action remains hopeful, saying, “We pray for him, myself and my wife, we always pray for him and we know we are going to see some positive results.”
Kwadee is celebrated for his distinctive rap and storytelling style, with hits like ‘Abrantie’, ‘Ofie Nipa’, ‘Meko M’anim’, and ‘Yeko Mmaa Pe’.
