Ghanaian entertainment pundit Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as KOKA, has clarified that his hug with gospel singer Ohemaa Mercy at the courthouse was not genuine.
According to KOKA, he only embraced her at his lawyer’s suggestion and did so as a formality, stating, “Our hugs in court were just settings. My lawyer told me to play along, so I did that. It was not from my heart. I did what my lawyer asked me to do, so the picture is fake. It was not me. I was just acting.”
KOKA’s comments follow his recent arrest after Ohemaa Mercy filed a complaint alleging he had made threats against her. He was held in police custody for nearly a week before being granted a GH₵2000 bail by an Accra Circuit Court. The dispute between the two stems from KOKA’s claim that the gospel singer owes him GH₵8500, which he insists she has yet to pay.
In a recent interview, KOKA reiterated that his grievances with Ohemaa Mercy remain unresolved and hinted that he would be addressing the matter in an upcoming book. “Nobody has paid me. There is a book coming out, and it will unveil everything at the right time, but there is a contract and everything. She has not given me a dime,” he stated.
He also urged journalists to ask Ohemaa Mercy to provide evidence if any payments were made to him. Despite the public perception that their issues were settled, KOKA asserts otherwise, maintaining that he has not moved on from the matter.
Controversial entertainment figure Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, known as Koka, has publicly apologized to gospel artist Ohemaa Mercy following a serious incident.
Ohemaa Mercy had taken legal action against Koka, leading to his arrest after he allegedly made threats to harm her if she failed to repay an alleged debt.
Koka claimed he was owed GH¢8,000 and had tried unsuccessfully to collect the money, which prompted his threatening behavior toward the singer.
On September 26, 2024, during a court hearing, Koka was granted bail set at GH¢2,000 with one surety by the Accra Circuit Court.
In a statement on Facebook, Koka expressed his remorse for the situation and offered his apologies to Ohemaa Mercy and anyone else affected.
He said, “I am truly sorry for any harm or distress I may have caused. This is a lesson learned, and I am committed to moving forward positively,” he stated.
New details have surfaced regarding the arrest of Kwaku Osei Krankye Asiedu, known as KOKA, former road manager and marketer for gospel artist Ohemaa Mercy.
In a recent statement, the singer revealed that she had reported KOKA to authorities after receiving life-threatening messages, which led to his arrest.
Court proceedings have since brought more information to light. According to a report from Angel FM, KOKA allegedly harassed Ohemaa Mercy on multiple platforms, making both public and private threats.
His anger stemmed from an unpaid debt of GH¢8,500, which he claimed was owed to him for work done.
KOKA, who had been with the musician since 2021, expressed frustration after she pursued projects without his involvement, leading to a breakdown in their professional relationship.
After repeated demands for payment, KOKA reportedly warned that he would resort to sending individuals after her if the money wasn’t settled.
Ohemaa Mercy, feeling unsafe, contacted the police, who made several unsuccessful attempts to bring KOKA in for questioning. He was eventually arrested in Accra at Afrikiko.
During his court appearance, KOKA insisted his only goal was to reclaim his owed funds and denied any intent to cause harm.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges of threatening harm and will remain in custody until his next court appearance on September 26, 2024.
Gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy recently revealed the arrest of her former team member, Kwaku Osei Krankye Asiedu, also known as KOKA, after reporting threats made against her life.
In a social media statement, she explained that her team and legal advisors took action, leading to KOKA’s arrest.
While specific details about the threats were not disclosed, Ohemaa Mercy assured that updates would follow when needed.
The statement read, “Setting the records straight. Team Ohemaa Mercy would like to address the events of yesterday and provide clarity on the circumstances surrounding the arrest of Kwaku Osei Krankye Asiedu (KOKA). The team and its lawyers take full responsibility for reporting the threats made against the life of the artiste Ohemaa Mercy, which led to the arrest.
“We want to categorically state that Becky of JoyNews had no involvement whatsoever in this matter, nor was she responsible for the arrest of KOKA, as some have speculated. We extend our sincerest apologies to Becky for being unfairly drawn into this situation, despite her complete lack of knowledge or involvement. We will provide further updates as necessary in due time. Team Ohemaa Mercy,” the statement captured on her Instagram read.
The statement also clarified that Becky of JoyNews was not involved in the situation, despite speculation suggesting otherwise.
Ohemaa Mercy’s team expressed regret for any false accusations directed at Becky, emphasizing her complete lack of involvement.
This follows a series of social media posts from KOKA, in which he had been publicly criticizing the gospel singer, calling her a “fake woman of God.”
Entertainment commentator Ola Michael has questioned gospel singer Ohemaa Mercy’s claim that she received a divine directive to divorce her husband.
Drawing from his own experiences, Ola Michael highlighted that while people often hear various voices during prayer, not all of them are necessarily from God.
He stressed the need for discernment when interpreting such messages and suggested that Ohemaa Mercy might have arrived at her decision to end her marriage based on her personal circumstances rather than a divine command.
“I have prayed on the mountains before, but not all the voices you hear are from God. That’s why God gave us wisdom to reflect and decide if it’s right. I doubt God told Ohemaa to get a divorce. Ohemaa said she spoke to God and was given the go-ahead to divorce…
“God has given us the understanding that if a marriage is not beneficial, it is okay to divorce because it’s complicated,” Ola said during the United Showbiz programme aired on UTV on September 14, 2024.
His comments, made during the September 14, 2024, episode of United Showbiz on UTV, reflect a broader skepticism regarding Ohemaa Mercy’s assertion that God endorsed her decision to end her marriage, even though they have children together.

Not all voices are from God – Ola Michael to Ohemaa Mercy on divorce
Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his divorce from gospel singer Ohemaa Mercy, Mr. Isaac Twum Ampofo, her ex-husband, has broken his silence.
Tensions rose after Ohemaa Mercy revealed that her decision to seek a divorce was guided by the Holy Spirit, allowing her to fully commit to her ministry.
This statement has drawn criticism, with figures like Brother Sammy and several online commentators suggesting her motives were more personal than spiritual.
In response to the growing backlash, Mr. Twum Ampofo turned to social media, urging the public to shift their attention away from the drama and focus on the success of the recent Tehilah Concert.
In his post, he emphasized the event’s spiritual impact, writing, “Let’s celebrate God’s goodness the miracles, testimonies, and the thousands who encountered Him.”
He also took the opportunity to praise his ex-wife, acknowledging her dedication to her calling.
“Let’s keep our focus on God’s goodness. The thousands who encountered God. The miracles and testimonies. Let’s keep the conversation centered on God’s goodness and the impact of this event,” he wrote.
He also seized the opportunity to commend his ex-wife. “Congratulations to the woman of God for dedicating herself to the master’s work. Your commitment to fostering worship and praise is truly admirable. May God continue to use you mightily.”
Gospel singer Brother Sammy has suggested that Ohemaa Mercy‘s decision to end her marriage was influenced by her personal and professional achievements.
In a recent interview with Kofi TV, Brother Sammy asserted that Ohemaa Mercy, having reached her goals in terms of children and financial stability, no longer values her husband, which led to her decision to divorce.
“She has gotten what she wants from the marriage. She has kids now and she has money and is more comfortable now so the man doesn’t count. When women get to a point where they have more money, they usually want to control the men and if that doesn’t happen, then they feel they’re better off being alone,” he stated.
According to Brother Sammy, once women attain financial independence, they may seek to control their partners.
He believes this was the case with Ohemaa Mercy, who, after gaining wealth and security, felt that her husband was no longer necessary to her.
He criticized the tendency to attribute personal choices to spiritual reasons, arguing that Ohemaa Mercy’s claim of divine guidance for her decision is questionable.
He questioned why she would leave a supportive partner now that she has achieved success, suggesting that her departure was more about personal convenience than spiritual calling.
Background:
Earlier, in an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, Ohemaa Mercy explained that she felt guided by the Holy Spirit to seek a divorce so she could fully dedicate herself to her ministry. She shared that the divorce led to a deeper sense of God’s presence in her life.
“I remember when I was going through divorce. During COVID-19, I depended solely on God for direction, I had a strong covenant with him. I will go to the mountains to pray for three months and I really wanted to hear what the Lord will say about what is going on around me. So when I heard it clearly, I took that bold step. I had the confirmation from God, If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have done it.
“I give God the glory because I am divorced but this is the time I have seen the hand of God so strong on my life, even more than when I was married,” she established.
Brother Sammy shared his candid opinions on Ohemaa Mercy’s recent claim that God instructed her to divorce her husband, Isaac Twum Ampofo, after three months of prayer during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo show with Nana Romeo on September 11, 2024, the gospel artist voiced his support for divorce in certain circumstances but criticized Ohemaa Mercy’s handling of the issue.
Brother Sammy challenged the widespread Christian belief that God always opposes divorce, citing the commonly quoted biblical phrase, “What God has put together, let no man separate.”
He questioned the assumption that God personally arranges marriages, emphasizing that the decision to marry is a human choice.
“God does not roam to find a woman for a man to marry. Rather, you search for a woman, take her to your parents, and with their blessings conduct the engagement ceremony. From there, you take it to the pastor for the wedding ceremony. God is not involved in this. He has not arranged any marriage for anyone. You found your partner at the club, party, funeral, etc., and married them,” the singer said.
He further encouraged those in abusive or harmful marriages to consider divorce, stressing that life and safety should come first.
“If your life is in danger in a marriage, you should leave,” he advised, reminding listeners that marriage is not an eternal bond.
However, despite his openness to divorce in specific situations, Brother Sammy outright dismissed Ohemaa Mercy’s claim that God had directed her to end her marriage.
He called her revelation “a lie,” asserting that if she hadn’t prayed about marrying her husband initially, it’s understandable she could want to leave.
“Ohemaa Mercy lied about hearing God’s voice asking her to divorce her husband. It’s never true but lies.”
“If she hadn’t prayed about marrying her husband and now has divorced him, that’s fine. If it was God who instructed her to marry and did not ask her to dissolve the marriage while she received support from her husband through thick and thin and has eventually prospered, and now has sought to leave, we will all see what the consequences will be,” he admonished.
But, he argued, if she felt God had guided her marriage and provided her support throughout, her decision now seemed questionable.
The singer speculated that Ohemaa Mercy might be using God as an excuse to break free from the responsibilities of marriage now that she is financially stable and has children to care for her in the future.
“This is hypocrisy. God has not said any such thing. She’s lying. She’s had the number of children she wants. They will take care of her when she is aged and ailing. She has a house and now seeks independence to enjoy life. You see marriage is a cage. When you’re in it, you are not free to do some things. So if you want to be free to do as you please, you blame God as the author of your divorce. God will never ask you to dissolve your marriage,” he said.
He cautioned that marriage involves limitations, and if someone wants to escape those constraints, they shouldn’t attribute it to divine will.
Despite being colleagues in the gospel industry, Brother Sammy made it clear he could not support Ohemaa Mercy’s claims, believing her actions to be misguided.
Ghanaian musician Ohemaa Mercy recently opened up about the reasons behind her divorce, sharing a compelling account in an interview with CookieTee on TV3.
She revealed that her decision to end her marriage was influenced by divine guidance.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she spent three months in prayer on the mountains, seeking clarity from God.
It was through this intense period of reflection and spiritual connection that she felt led to pursue a divorce in order to dedicate herself more fully to her ministry.
Ohemaa Mercy described how, after making this decision, she felt a profound sense of God’s presence and blessings in her life, even more so than when she was married.
She emphasized that her former husband was supportive of her choice and they agreed to co-parent their children while maintaining mutual support.
“My partner understood that we had to do things that way. I told him we needed a break and he totally understood. We agreed to support each other and take care of the kids. If I’m facing challenges, we discuss them. My priority is to honour God, and that’s why we decided on this path,” she added.
They continue to have a positive and supportive relationship, speaking daily and working together for the well-being of their family.

Renowned Gospel artist Ohemaa Mercy recently shared her profound journey through adversity before becoming a celebrated figure in the music industry.
In an interview with Cookie Tee, she opened up about her challenging past, revealing that during her time as a teacher, she struggled with financial hardship, leading to the repossession of her belongings, including her television sets.
Ohemaa Mercy recounted feeling overwhelmed and humiliated by these circumstances. She described instances where she isolated herself for days, grappling with the sense of abandonment despite her dedication to her faith and church activities.
She was particularly disheartened by the lack of support from her church community when she faced significant personal challenges, including difficulties paying hospital bills after the birth of her first child.
“I gave up, I stopped singing in church and didn’t want to hear anything about music because I was going through a lot and I felt at a point God has disappointed me because of my commitment and sacrificies.
“Sometimes, I would go to my mum for help and she would look at me and say I’m really disappointed and I have to walk miles to the house. I remember I was so pregnant with my first born and I have to go to my mum for food for one week. I could not face the world.
“I have to even take knife to kill myself because I felt at this point, there won’t be any good,” she said on Today’s Woman, September 6.
In her darkest moments, Ohemaa Mercy even contemplated suicide, feeling that her sacrifices and faith had not shielded her from suffering.
She recalled times when she sought help from her mother and was met with disappointment, intensifying her feelings of despair.
Despite these hardships, Ohemaa Mercy now views her experiences as a testament to God’s enduring love.
She reflected on how her trials were a preparation for her upcoming ‘Bethel Experience’ concert, a transformative event she believes was divinely inspired to save souls and bring healing.
“God will never make you rest, he will melt you, he will break you to the point where you will run to him and he will open up to you who he had made you.
“But do you know why because the devil has seen that, today there is going to be Tehillah and a lot of souls are going to be saved, people are going to be out of captivity and that is why the devil was wresting against me.
“Immediately you see that things are not going on well, stick to prayer and stop talking,” she encouraged Christians.
She emphasized the importance of persistence in prayer during tough times and encouraged believers to remain steadfast despite adversities.
Ghanaian gospel musician, Ohemaa Mercy, has indicated that she is well-vested in most areas but oblivious when it comes to the affairs of marriage.
Speaking to UTV, she noted that there are many causes for the collapse of marriages, with spiritual and physical factors being the most significant.
She added that she is not the right person to give advice to couples who are having a tough time in their marriage.
She explained that she has a lot of experience to give in that field but is not the best source for guidelines.
“There are a lot of factors that cause the collapse of marriages. These factors are spiritual and physical so you don’t have to be quick to advise victims. I always say that I am not qualified to talk about marriage. I have experiences I can share but I can’t be the best at counseling because I am not the right person. I know everything but clueless on marriage matters,” she said.
In 2020, rumours emerged about issues in the collapse of Ohemaa Mercy’s marriage.
Despite the speculation, no official statement was released concerning the reasons behind their separation.
Gospel artistOhemaa Mercy has shared that she’s ventured into the real estate market, having been active in the field for the past three years.
She disclosed this while promoting her event, Tehillah Experience, during an interview with Accra-based Kingdom FM.
Ohemaa Mercy acknowledged that real estate is a high-capital industry, but emphasized that the financial rewards are substantial.
She described the process as demanding patience and persistence until the investment yields returns.
The musician revealed she owns properties in Oyarifa and Lashibi and expressed her plans to expand her real estate portfolio further.
“It’s been three years and lots of money goes into it. But it teaches you how to endure till everything is done and then you get the money that you want. It is a very good business.
“I have properties in Oyarifa and Lashibi,” she stated while disclosing her intentions to add more.
Ghanaian transgender and LGBTQ+ rights advocate Angel Maxine has taken to social media to respond sharply to recent comments made by gospel artist Ohemaa Mercy.
During a TV3 interview, Ohemaa Mercy urged Ghanaian leaders to reject homosexuality, claiming that it is condemned by God and warning that its acceptance could spell disaster for the nation.
Angel Maxine criticized Ohemaa Mercy’s views, accusing her of being both uninformed and influenced by colonialist attitudes.
In her social media post, Maxine advised Ohemaa Mercy to focus on her music and refrain from commenting on LGBTQ+ issues.
“Ohemaa Mercy, you’re a combination of illiteracy and colonized mentality! Please concentrate on your music and stay away from LGBTQI+ issues. Thank you.”
This exchange comes at a time of heightened debate over LGBTQ+ rights in Ghana, especially with the contentious Anti-LGBT+ Bill currently under consideration in parliament.
The proposed legislation would impose prison sentences ranging from six months to three years for individuals engaged in LGBTQ+ activities, while those who promote or support such acts could face three to five years in prison.
Ghanaian musician Ohemaa Mercy has urged national leaders to reject the push for legalizing homosexual activities in the country, despite advocacy from certain activists.
She believes that such acceptance would bring serious negative consequences to Ghana, citing her religious convictions that view homosexuality as abhorrent and harmful.
In an interview with 3FM, monitored by GhanaWeb, Ohemaa Mercy described homosexuality as a taboo influenced by malevolent forces aimed at destroying lives.
She shared that individuals who have confided in her about their struggles with homosexuality often find themselves seeking spiritual intervention.
Mercy emphasized that she would not support the inclusion of homosexuality in legislation, warning that doing so could lead to divine disfavor and harm the nation.
“For me, where I am standing in the spiritual side, you can’t control it. Anytime I meet young ladies and gentlemen that share their problems with me, especially with this, they open up to you. I have a lot of calls. And you could see that the person is not of him or herself. I will never allow that.
“It [homosexuality] is something that God hates. And if you are listening to me and you are going through that, you need the hand of God. You are not of yourself. I will never stand on the fact that they need us to get them close, to help them get out. But the fact that they want us to put it on the bill to accept it will not help this nation. It will actually take off the face of God from Ghana and incur God’s wrath,” she warned.
The Anti-LGBT+ Bill remains under review by parliament, with its final status yet to be determined by the Supreme Court.
Renowned Ghanaian gospel artist Ohemaa Mercy recently shared insights into the evolving landscape of the gospel music industry.
Speaking with Bernice Owusuwaa on GhanaWeb TV’s Talkertainment, she discussed significant changes affecting artists’ earnings.
In the past, artists could swiftly collect substantial earnings from physical CD sales through distributors. “At first, you could get your money straight away by going to the distributors, and it would give you a huge sum of money,” she explained.
“With the rise of digital and streaming platforms, the process has changed. Artistes now have to wait for their earnings to accumulate in digital accounts before accessing them.
“Now, it goes into your account, so you have to wait for it to mature before you can get it,” she noted.
However, with the shift towards digital and social media platforms, revenue collection has become more delayed.
Ohemaa Mercy explained that earnings now accumulate in digital accounts, requiring artists to wait for them to mature before accessing funds.
Despite these challenges, she remains optimistic about the global outreach opportunities provided by digital platforms.
These remarks add to ongoing discussions about the pros and cons of digital versus physical music sales in Ghana’s music scene.
Gospel star Ohemaa Mercy expressed concern over the lack of discernment among Christians during an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
Addressing Romeo’s observation that some church leaders’ sermons are unprofitable, Ohemaa Mercy agreed, stating that if believers truly have the spirit of God within them, they would be warned through discernment when encountering deceptive preaching.
She lamented that many Christians find themselves in the wrong places, attracted to preachers who spread falsehoods yet command large followings.
“If indeed the spirit of God is within you as you sit in the chapel listening to the preacher’s lies and deception, he [the spirit] will warn you through the discernment spirit and tell you that you’re at the wrong place,” she added.
Ohemaa Mercy attributed this troubling trend to a misplaced faith in religious leaders rather than in God.
She criticized the phenomenon of personality worship among Christians and the abuse of power by some religious leaders. Highlighting extreme examples, she condemned the practice of treating bodily fluids from religious leaders as sacred.
“We are constantly lied to because we feel that God is the person standing there. We believe in man more than God,” she said, perplexed that even bodily fluids like “urine” and “spittle” from religious leaders are considered hallowed by some.
“Some will collect the spittle and apply it on themselves because they see the person as God,” Ohemaa Mercy bemoaned, strongly warning: “Be very careful!”
“Mind what you are doing because you are on slippery ground,” she cautioned.
She urged believers to be cautious and mindful, warning them about the dangers of misplaced trust.
Despite the concerning behavior, she encouraged her audience to focus on developing a personal relationship with God rather than seeking out human intermediaries.
The singer stressed that God is always accessible and responsive to genuine prayers, emphasizing that the problem lies in believers not being close to Him.
“There’s a God who answers prayer in the twinkling of an eye. The only issue is you are not friends with him, and so you see him so far away. You have now thought to yourself that he is in humans, so you have also put your trust in humans,” the Ote Me Mu hitmaker admonished.
She expressed disbelief at the miraculous claims made by some deceitful preachers, such as promising to heal decapitation, and prayed for God’s mercy.
In her concluding remarks, Ohemaa Mercy urged Christians to redirect their faith and efforts toward God instead of relying on fallible human leaders.
“I plead for the mercy of God,” the humanitarian and Edin Jesus hitmaker prayed.
Gospel star Ohemaa Mercy has expressed her concerns about the lack of discernment among Christians.
Speaking to Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo on Thursday, July 11, 2024, she agreed with Romeo’s observation that some church leaders’ preaching is not beneficial to their congregations.
“If the spirit of God truly resides within you, it will warn you through discernment if you are listening to deceitful preaching,” she said.
Ohemaa Mercy lamented that many Christians find themselves in the wrong places, following deceitful preachers who ironically attract large followings.
She attributed this to people looking up to men rather than God.
The award-winning Gospel artist criticized the worship of religious leaders and the abuse of power within churches.
She noted with dismay that some Christians revere bodily fluids like urine and spittle from these leaders, considering them sacred. “Be very careful!” she warned, cautioning against such practices and emphasizing the importance of discernment.
Ohemaa Mercy urged Christians to focus on building a personal relationship with God rather than chasing after men of God out of desperation.
“There’s a God who answers prayers instantly, but if you are not friends with Him, you may see Him as distant,” she advised.
She expressed concern over the extraordinary promises made by deceitful preachers, such as healing a decapitated man, and prayed for God’s mercy.
Despite the troubling trend, Ohemaa Mercy encouraged her audience to strengthen their faith and trust in God, warning against becoming enslaved to false leaders.
Ghanaian gospel artist Ohemaa Mercy recently expressed her admiration for Highlife and Reggae Dancehall musicians Kofi Kinaata and Stonebwoy during an interview on Accra’s Hitz FM.
She highlighted her preference for music that carries wisdom and meaningful messages, praising Kofi Kinaata and Stonebwoy for their ability to create such songs.
Ohemaa Mercy specifically mentioned integrating Stonebwoy’s “Tuff Seed” into her preaching, citing its wisdom.
She also emphasized her avoidance of profane music in her household due to its moral implications.
Renowned gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy recounted the traumatic experience she went through during childbirth, describing it as a perilous ordeal that lasted three days.
In an interview with Adom TV, she recounted going into labor on a Tuesday and undergoing a prolonged ordeal that required extensive medical intervention.
By Friday, with her baby still undelivered, doctors decided to perform an emergency caesarean section due to complications that posed risks to both her and the baby.
Although the surgery was successful, Ohemaa Mercy encountered additional challenges when her surgical stitches were removed prematurely, causing her wound to reopen.
This complication, she said, necessitated another urgent surgery to save her life just a week later.
During this critical time, Ohemaa Mercy also dealt with the overwhelming burden of medical bills, which added to her physical and emotional stress.
In what she described as a miraculous and timely intervention, a nurse who was a friend of her mother stepped in with alternative treatment and provided essential support throughout her recovery.
Over the next six months, Ohemaa Mercy had to proceed with caution to avoid further complications from her wound.
She emphasized that this challenging journey tested her physical endurance and deeply challenged her faith.
Today, she credits her survival to the grace of God, expressing profound gratitude for being alive despite the formidable obstacles she faced.
Gospel Musician, Ohemaa Mercy has asserted that Christians have a duty to worship and converse with God with the utmost reverence.
She stated this opinion in a recent interview with Accra 100.5 FM, saying she thought it was reckless for Christians to worship while taking pictures with their phones.
In a brief excerpt from the interview shared online, Ohemaa Mercy, who recently launched the 10th edition of her event ‘Tehillah Experience,’ expressed her belief that many Christians are unaware of the actions they partake in, which can leave them vulnerable to curses.
The winner of the 2023 VGMA Best Gospel Song of the Year highlighted the protocols commonly observed during public interactions involving prominent figures like presidents and monarchs.
She drew a parallel between these protocols and Christians’ encounters with the supreme sustainer of their lives. Ohemaa Mercy argued that during worship sessions, Christians must not neglect to demonstrate the reverence they hold for God.
Ghanaian gospel musician has made a startling disclosure regarding her earnings from the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO).
Despite her sixteen-year career in music, she disclosed receiving a meagre sum of only 300 cedis as royalties from the organization.
In an exclusive interview with GhanaWeekend, the award-winning singer expressed her frustrations and highlighted the challenges faced by many artists who find themselves in similar situations.
Known for her hit songs like ‘Wobeye kese’ and ‘Ote Memu,’ Ohemaa Mercy emphasized that the 300 cedis were the extent of her royalty payment since 2007.
Her revelation raises serious questions about the transparency and accountability of royalty collection and distribution within the Ghanaian music industry, particularly in relation to GHAMRO.
The organization, established to safeguard and manage the rights of musicians and songwriters, is responsible for collecting royalties on behalf of artists for public performances and broadcasts of their music.
These royalties are meant to be a vital income source, supporting artists’ creative pursuits and livelihoods.
During the interview, Ohemaa Mercy expressed her frustration over the financial challenges she has faced due to the absence of proper structures to ensure rightful royalty earnings. She stated, “I received GH¢300 in 2007 and since then, I have never received any money from the royalties-sharing agency.”
Gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy has expressed a mature and positive outlook on her past marriage. She firmly believes that even though she has chosen to end her marriage, it does not give her the right to harm or tarnish the reputation of her former husband.
Ohemaa Mercy’s approach to avoiding controversies and negative stories about her is to refrain from responding to them. This decision has helped her maintain a clean and positive public image.
During an interview with Sokoohemaa Kukua on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, Ohemaa Mercy emphasized that she and her ex-husband have never been enemies and do not harbor any ill feelings toward each other. They choose to maintain a respectful relationship, demonstrating a level of maturity and understanding beyond the end of their marriage.
”We have never been enemies, and we will never be enemies.”
Ohemaa Mercy said, ”When your enemies are accusing you, look at the positive side and learn from it; do not dwell on the negatives”.
”If there is no understanding and a marriage ends, it does not mean that the gift you have in the man or the children you have together must die or that the life you both have must come to an end. This is for the wise. If your marriage fails, your life does not have to come to an end. As a divorcee, I always pray for him. I always pray for wisdom for him. He called me from the moment I left the marriage to inquire about Tehillah and to offer his support.
It is not about what other people think. I am a different person who bears the mantle of God, and I seek God’s guidance in everything I do. So marriage cannot undo what God has given me. Whether it went well or not, it will not prevent me from carrying out what God has planned for me.”
Ohemaa Mercy added that ”for me leaving out of the marriage, I will not destroy him. We have kids that are also looking up to us and following our footsteps”.
”Our children are all boys, and you need the father to help you raise them. So we talk about our children and make decisions about them. And about my ministry, when he has any idea, he brings it on board.”
The decision of her ex-husband to attend the Tehillah launch this year was one of the surprises for her at the time, she continued.
During the launch of the 10th edition of her Tehillah Experience event, Gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy opened up about her emotions upon unexpectedly encountering her ex-husband, Twum-Ampofo, expressing that she was completely unaware of his presence amidst the vast crowd of attendees
“It was actually a surprise to me as well because I gave my firstborn a task and he went to the father for help on how to go about it, and so the father came with him,” she revealed in an interview on Joy Prime.
She commended him for his contribution to the growth and success of the Tehillah Experience over the past few years since the birth of the initiative.
Despite the fact that the couple have divorced, she said Mr Twum-Ampofo still supports the event every now and then when the need arises.
The gospel sensation further disclosed that the Lacoste that the ex-husband wore to the launch was given to him by his son and not her.
When asked how she felt when she saw him, she said, “So fulfilling.”
This year’s edition, dubbed ‘Fire and Fragance,’ will feature renowned gospel musicians including S.K. Frimpong, Ceccy Twum, Diana Hamilton, Kofi Osei Peprah, and Uncle Ato.
The event is slated for Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the Oil Dome, Royalhouse Chapel International.
She wants members of the public to participate and be blessed.
Gospel sensation Ohemaa Mercy has addressed the issue surrounding the act of taking videos or selfies during worship sessions in church, stating her belief that it is a curse.
According to her, “When you’re going before a king, there are things you can’t do. To put it in this way, you’re going before the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords to thank him for protecting or delivering you from that accident, and your focus is to put it on Facebook or whatever while worship is going on. It’s a curse on you because you don’t actually respect the atmosphere and the person you’re before,” she narrated on Joy Prime’s morning show on Monday.
The ‘Ote Me Mu’ hit-maker grounded her claims on the fact that high-class human beings are respected in society, talk less of the God who is the creator of the universe.
Additionally, the gospel singer’s remarks were influenced by a personal experience she had at an event she attended some years ago. This encounter further solidified her views on the matter.
“Worship was actually going on when the Lord opened my eyes and I saw empty chairs. There was a lady that came in, and on her chair before she came in, I saw an angel with a baby. So, when I held the microphone, I asked the lady if she was having an issue of not conceiving, and she said yes, and I said I saw an angel holding a baby, but unfortunately, you didn’t come to worship, and when you came, you weren’t serious, so the angel went away with your baby,” she narrated.
She fervently believes that people miss out their blessings at church due to such practices during worship.
Addressing the question of whether media personnel covering worship sessions can be considered to be under such a curse, she said they are an exception because it is part of their job, unlike other individuals.
“It is their work that they’ve been assigned to do. That is different from you, who is there on a mission or purpose, and God even sees them as the work that they’re doing,” she asserted.
The gospel singer believes God considers the work of the media personnel as part of the gospel ministry.
Prior to that, the ‘Aseda’ songwriter urged all Christians to desist from taking personal videos and selfies while worship is ongoing in order to stay focused and allow themselves to be delivered or touched by God.
In the meantime, Ohemaa Mercy is set to hold the 10th edition of her Tehillah Experience concert, scheduled to take place on August 13, 2023, at the Oil Dome, Royalhouse Chapel International.
This year’s edition, dubbed ‘Fire and Fragance,’ will feature renowned gospel musicians including S.K. Frimpong, Ceccy Twum, Diana Hamilton, Kofi Osei Peprah, and Uncle Ato.
The gospel musician is confident that the 10th Tehillah Experience 2023 will leave an indelible mark on the audience.
Ghanaian gospel singer, Ohemaa Mercy, has expressed gratitude to her former music producer, Big Ben, and praised him as her strongest supporter along with other colleagues.
The multi-award-winning Gospel minister used her interaction with Big Ben as an example of a typical comparison to highlight the differences in her speech on the changes technology has brought to the music industry.
“We felt really pampered during the times we worked with Big Ben. All that was needed was for Big Ben to pay for you to go and sing in a studio. The rest was history. He buys clothes for you to take videos but the marketing was not a problem for the artistes,” she disclosed.
She continued, “So those times, we did not struggle too much, but now, you are too much involved,” adding more insight to the subject. Even though we have some people supporting and helping with the marketing, YouTube is all about patience. At first, you get physical cash coming straight to you but it’s different today.”
During her appearance on Onua Showtime, Ohemaa Mercy discussed how the CEO of Big Ben Music Production has helped many people and how he was a strong support system for her.
“He has helped a lot of people and then for me, my greatest support system is Big Ben,” she revealed.
In the same interview, we had artiste manager, Kwesi Ernest adding his voice to the conversation on the modifications technology had brought to the music industry.
“The difference is that back then, it was more of craft and talent. In the past, if you were not a musician, you wouldn’t go close to a microphone. However, in recent times, the system is different because now, even for someone who doesn’t have a voice, when they enter the studio, they sing whatever and it gets recorded after which the machine will then work on the voice. This has made the financial aspect of music difficult. It has become very expensive unlike before,” he added.
A spectacular lineup of Ghanaian Gospel music stars has been announced for the highly anticipated ‘Tehillah Experience’ taking place at the Oil Dome of Royalhouse Chapel International in Accra on Sunday, August 13, 2023. The event promises to be a remarkable gathering of renowned Gospel artists, offering a memorable and uplifting musical experience.
Headlined by Ohemaa Mercy and themed ‘Fire and Fragrance, this year’s edition which marks the 10th anniversary of the event features Diana Hamilton, Ceccy Twum, Uncle Ato, Pastor Joe Beechem and Kofi Owusu Peprah who will lead Gospel music enthusiasts in a charged atmosphere of praise of worship.
Others on the bill include Efe Grace, Mr. M & Revelation, Rama Antwi, Michael Manhendere among others.
Touted as one of the popular events on the annual Gospel music calendar, ‘Tehillah Experience’ has grown over the years not to only serve devotees of Gospel music good songs but has also been an avenue for people to have divine encounters that have positively changed their lives.
Speaking at the press launch held at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra, last week, Ohemaa Mercy explained that she chose the theme Fire and Fragance to show appreciation to God for His blessings and support throughout her life and career.
“I want to invite everyone to join us at this year’s Tehillah Experience, marking our10th anniversary. It’s going to be a grand and impactful event,” Ohemaa Mercy stated.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the 2022 VGMA Gospel Song of the Year winner said she was very confident this year’s concert will record the highest stories of people being touched.
“My DM is full with stories of people whose lives have changed just because they attended Tehillah Experience and this has been my biggest inspiration,” the Ote Me Mu singer disclosed.
Last year’s ‘Tehillah Experience’ themed, ‘Clouds of Glory’ featured performances from renowned Gospel musicians including South Africa’s Benjamin Dube and Lebo Sekgobela and Ghana’s Joe Mettle, MOG, Efe Grace, Kofi Owusu Peprah, Ceccy Twum, Pastor Isaiah and Rama Antwi.
Gospel star, Ohemaa Mercy has emphasized the significance of attending and participating praise and worship session at church, stating that it is an essential experience not to be missed.
According her individuals who indulge in distractions like taking selfies and other disruptive behaviors during the sacred time of praise and worship invoke curses on themselves.
“You’ve taken up a curse,” she warned. “I’ll say it again. You’ve taken up a big curse because you’ve shown you don’t respect God,” she added.
In an interview with the media on Thursday, July 13, 2023, she explained that what ones needs can be found during this dedicated time of praising God. It is when we lift up God in praise that He bestows His mantle, glory, and answers upon us.
According to Mercy, praising God leads to His divine presence descending, followed by His servant delivering the inspired message.
“So if you really want to see the face of God, it is through the worship you don’t even believe in. It is the worship that you don’t respect or value and intentionally miss. If you indeed miss it and come in when the preaching starts, you’ve missed a lot,” the Ote Me Mu (He Lives In Me) hitmaker admonished.
Ohemaa Mercy said: “Thanksgiving is the one thing God desires from you because of the sustenance and protection he gives against the death [and other calamities] that come for others between Monday and Sunday.”
To support her point, Ohemaa Mercy shared an anecdote about being invited to perform at a church.
“…before they called me up on stage, there was worship going on [involving] everybody,” she narrated, “and God opened my eyes [in a vision] and I saw that there were some chairs that were empty and you know some people are in the habit of always sitting at a specific place. There was a particular lady – when I took the microphone I asked about where she was. I was told she was not present but not so long after that, she arrived – I was singing then. I told her: ‘You’ve really missed out’.”
Ohemaa Mercy said she explained to the woman how God had sent his angel to bring “your child to you but since you were not present, he took the child away”.
The thing about the praise and worship session, according to the singer-songwriter, is it is a time “one is open and receptive”.
“A lot of people miss out on their answers to prayers because they miss worship,” she said.
The multiple award-winning artiste bemoaned that “we’ve become too familiar with God, the Almighty, the I Am that I Am” meanwhile, “when we go before mighty human kings we show reverential fear”.
Ex-husband of Ohemaa Mercy, Isaac Twum-Ampofo popularly called Ike made an unexpected appearance at the Tehilla Experience’s tenth-anniversary celebration.
Ike’s presence was not the only surprise; everyone was taken off guard by his appearance as well.
Ike now sported a completely different appearance that could easily cause him to go unnoticed. Previously, he was recognised for his short, faded haircut and clean-shaven face.
It was observed that he had plaited his hair and grown a neatly trimmed beard and mustache. Ike, who was not known for wearing sunglasses in the past, was spotted wearing a pair to complement his new style.
Ike proudly wore one of the customised t-shirts for the launch, exchanging pleasantries with guests and beaming with a wide smile.
Ohemaa Mercy, during her speech, expressed her utmost gratitude to Ike for his unwavering support over the years. Despite their divorce, she acknowledged his continuous professional assistance to her and thanked him for it.
In 2020, rumours circulated about trouble in Ohemaa Mercy and Ike’s relationship, but no official communication was made regarding the cause of their separation.
However, their presence together at the Tehilla Experience indicated that they have maintained a positive connection and a supportive relationship.
Mercy Twum-Ampofo, better known as Ohemaa Mercy, has released Tehilla X, the latest edition of her Tehilla Experience.
Tehilla X marks the tenth edition of the Tehilla Experience, which began in 2013 to unite Christians in praise and worship.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Fire and Fragrance’ and will take place at the Oil Dome, RoyalHouse Chapel International, Accra on August 13, 2023, 4pm prompt.
Speaking at the launch, Ohemaa Mercy was overcome with emotion as she expressed gratitude to God and all her supporters for how far Tehilla has come.
“At this moment I find myself in the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 118 verse 23, ‘This is the doing of the Lord and it is marvelous in our sight’. I am grateful to the Lord for the grace to stay consistent for 10 years.
“It has been sometimes great, sometimes extremely challenging, but in all I want to thank God for his mercy for the past 10 years and all the people he brought my way to keep this programme as vibrant as it has become.
“My prayer for the next 10 years is for the Lord to grant us all the strength we need to keep pushing this mandate he has given us,” she said.
Some artistes billed to minister at the programme are Uncle Ato, Cece Twum, Diana Hamilton, Pastor Joe Beecham and Efe Grace.
Gospel musician, Ohemaa Mercy, has conveyed deep gratitude to her ex-husband, Isaac Twum-Ampofo (Ike), for his steadfast support throughout her Tehillah Experience journey.
in a graphiconline.com report, Ohemaa Mercy revealed that Ike has continuously offered professional assistance to enhance her work, and she remains forever grateful for his contributions.
Speaking at the launch of the 10th edition of Tehillah Experience, held at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra on July 6, she publicly thanked Ike for his massive support over the years.
“I want to say a big thank you to my ex-husband Ike for his massive support over the years. This wonderful man has been there for me and keeps supporting Tehillah Experience,” Ohemaa Mercy expressed her gratitude.
Ike, visibly moved by Ohemaa’s remarks, acknowledged her appreciation with a wave and quietly took his seat, showcasing their mutual respect and shared commitment to the success of the Tehillah Experience.
The launch event marked the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Tehillah Experience, with this year’s theme being ‘Fire and Fragrance.’
The event, scheduled to take place at the Oil Dome on Sunday, August 13, promises to be a grand and impactful celebration.
A remarkable lineup of gospel artistes, including Kofi Owusu Peprah, Efe Grace, Ceccy Twum, Uncle Ato, Pastor Joe Beecham, and Diana Hamilton, will grace the stage, ensuring a spiritually uplifting and memorable evening of worship.
Ohemaa Mercy, the winner of the 2022 VGMA Gospel Song of the Year, encouraged patrons to mark their calendars and attend this year’s Tehillah Experience.
She assured them that the 10th-anniversary celebration would be grand and impactful, leaving a lasting impression on their hearts.
“I want to invite everyone to join us at this year’s Tehillah Experience, marking our tenth anniversary. It’s going to be a grand and impactful event,” Ohemaa Mercy extended her invitation.
The Tehillah Experience has grown over the years into a significant gathering of worshippers, and Ohemaa Mercy’s appreciation extends not only to her ex-husband but also to all those who have supported and contributed to the success of the event.
As preparations for the Tehillah Experience continue, attendees can anticipate an unforgettable evening of worship, where the power of ‘Fire and Fragrance’ will be celebrated and experienced.
Artiste manager and CEO of Media Excel Productions, Kwesi Ernest, has counseled gospel performers on how to best present a comprehensive picture of themselves on stage in order to secure corporate sponsorship.
According to him, only a handful of gospel artistes are able to garner sponsorship as a result of their large fan base and showmanship when they hit the stage.
“Now that it is not very easy to get corporate bodies to support gospel shows, the onus lies on gospel musicians to do the needful by putting their acts together and making sure that they are attractive enough to catch the eye of sponsors.
“Artistes such as MOGmusic, Diana Hamilton, Ohemaa Mercy, Joe Mettle, Piesie Esther and a few others are doing great out there. However, more needs to be done if we want good sponsorship for gospel events” he told Graphic Showbiz.
Kwesi Ernest also appealed to corporate bodies to be welcoming when gospel musicians seek support from them for their events.
“I don’t want to mention names but I have been to some of these companies and it is boldly written at their front desk that they don’t sponsor gospel events. I would want to use this opportunity to encourage them to be welcoming. Sponsorship helps a lot, especially in these hard times,” he added.
Asked about his view on the current gospel scene, Kwesi Ernest said the sector is doing great. “I say this because it didn’t use to happen. To have three Gospel artistes in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year category is a huge deal. Now, most of the categories have a gospel artiste in there—Best Collaboration, Best Female Vocalist, Best Video, Most Popular Song, among others,” he stated.
Kwesi Ernest, who has managed a lot of artistes including Becca, Praye, Stella Seal, Francis Adjei and currently manages ACP Kofi Sarpong and Abena Ruthy, said he is confident Piesie Esther will win the Artiste of the Year at this year’s VGMA because she worked harder than all the other artistes competing for the ultimate prize.
“Some Ghanaians will not agree with me but the truth is that she deserves it.
Her works in the year under review are unmatched and she deserves it one time,” he added.
Ghanaian gospel minister,Ohemaa Mercy, has vehemently kicked against the practice of LGBTQ in the country.
Sharing her view on the subject in a discussion on United Showbiz on Saturday, April 8, the popular gospel singer stressed that the act is being backed by a strong evil spirit that completely destroys and strips people of their honour.
Illustrating her point, Ohemaa Mercy said even dogs do not mate with their peers who are of the same sex.
“I was telling everybody that it is a strong spirit, it turns a graceful human being into an animal. Even a dog won’t practice same-sex; how much more you, a human being? This issue is no joke. For Ghana to accept this? It won’t be a joke,” she stated.
Buttressing her points further, the ‘Ote me mu’ hitmaker listed some dire consequences the country would face, should the practice be embraced.
“If we are a Christian country and we fear God, we shouldn’t incur God’s wrath. If we think other countries have accepted it, then let’s not forget that Ghana is a small country. God’s wrath will destroy us all. We are against it and we are standing against it for the next generation. If we accept this, the country will be destroyed. It is not a good thing, it is God’s taboo. LGBTQ can destroy a nation and permit Satan to rule over it,” she stressed.
Meanwhile, the president has been subjected to huge backlashes following his comments on the LGBTQ during a press conference with the US Vice President, Kamala Harris, at the Jubilee House in Accra.
After listening to the US Vice President re-affirm her stance on LGBTQ as well as state her grievances over the current anti-gay bill placed before parliament, Akufo-Addo refuted the suggestion that Ghana already had an anti-LGBT law.
He said the bill, which was championed by “only a hand full of MPs”, is currently being considered by Parliament.
Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic struck, patrons of Adom Praiz were deprived of a live concert.
For two years, they had to watch artistes perform virtually and although that was entertaining, the absence of an in-person festival was felt.
So when Adom FM and its sister channel announced the return of the in-person festival, it was an opportunity for fans to once again revisit the joy that accompanies Adom Praiz.
Hence, on Friday, November 4, patrons trooped in – in their numbers as early as 5 pm – to the Perez Dome in Dzorwulu to worship God and entertain themselves with songs of praise.
The event was hosted jointly by Adom FM’s Kwamena Idan and Joy FM’s Pastor Ato Acquah.
Although he is not new to Adom Praiz, Sax Borsah’s presence at Perez Dome on such an occasion was a welcome sight.
The saxophonist was the opening act for the 2022 edition.
Sax Borsah
Leading the set with his renditions of popular gospel songs, Sax Borsah had patrons on their feet worshiping and singing to the glory of God as they prepared to witness thrilling performances from the other acts.
Thus when Jesse Morgan and later ‘Big God’ hitmaker Kofi Owusu Peprah took the stage, the audience were charged, – on their feet and hands in the air – they danced and sang along to their hits.
Jesse Morgan
Meanwhile, singer Efe Grace gave a performance that moved the crowd in the Perez Dome.
Her ministrations sent patrons to their knees and others seemingly ‘in the spirit’ as they listened to her deliver one of the moving performances of the night.
Efe Grace
Although fans were bumped to see her time on stage come to an end, they were soon compensated with a sermon from Prophet Gideon Danso.
The renowned man of God encouraged Christians and Ghanaians at large to remain steadfast in Christ amid the economic challenge.
His sermon gave hope to the audience as they looked up to God and prayed for strength and brighter days.
Prophet Gideon Danso
When he exited the stage, the man of the moment, the 2022 Adom Praiz headliner Travis Greene surprised fans by mounting the stage.
He got eager fans pulling out their phones to capture his performance so they could revisit the moment any time they wanted.
Excited fans were even taken aback when the wife of Travis joined him on stage mid-way through his performance.
Jacqueline Gyamfi Greene
Although her time was short, she sang, delivered a soulful performance and prayed for patrons.
From Make a Way to Intentional, Travis Greene not only thrilled the audience but left a lasting impression on them.
The headliner may have been done but there was more to look forward to.
Ohemaa Mercy brought the dome to a standstill when she graced the stage, first starting her performance with a spirit-filled ministration and later performing some of her biggest hits.
Many patrons moved to the front not only to see her better but dance and sing along to her songs.
They were willing to abandon their chairs to continue standing for the exciting performances from Pastor Edwin Dadson and later Soul Winners.
Fans pulled out their handkerchief, with some forming a long line or a circle; dancing to every praise tune these two acts put out.
Between Pastor Dadson’s medley of popular gospel songs including This far by Grace, Higher and ‘Nnaase’ and Soul Winners’ song ministrations, fans could not hold back their excitement – they were definitely a crowd favorite.
Perez Muzik with his talented vocalist then took over-delivering an electrifying performance at the Perez Dome.
Perez Muzik
But as promised he was not the final act to grace the stage.
Renowned Gospel singer Piesie Esther moved fans to tears with her performance especially when she soulfully sang her testimony-inspired song, ‘Wa Ye Me Yie’.
Celestine Donkor meanwhile, wowed the audience when she started off with a heated worship session.
She then switched to a praise session during which congregants couldn’t help but dance.
Gospel musician, Jacob Kwaw, popularly known as Jack Alolome, completed the job started by those before him – maintaining a charged atmosphere and entertaining the crowd.
With hit songs like ‘Tomorow by this time’, ‘Woso me mu’ and others, Jack was in his element when it came to giving the audience what they paid for – an exciting performance.
Travis Greene, the multiple Grammy-nominated gospel artiste, has finally touched down in Ghana ahead of the annual Adom Praiz concert that brings together multitudes to praise and adore their maker.
The US-based gospel musician has promised to give off an electrifying and one-in-a-moment stage performance at the Perez Dome as this marks the first time in a long time he set foot in the country.
Talking about expectations tomorrow, the Intentional hitmaker said he is poised to stage a performance that will forever linger in the memories of patrons.
“We did a new project called Take Revival… We will be doing new materials on that project as well. I have been writing and producing, and I am excited to share the old hits and some new songs that have been in the heart,” he said in an interview on JoyNews.
Throwing light on Ghana, he said: “It will be my first time back in Ghana since the pre-pandemic… it’s been about three years since I have been here. This is one of the first countries in Africa that has understood my impact.”
According to him, being married to a Ghanaian also gingers him to love the West-African country.
“The competition about the Jollof rice, the food, culture, and energy… I think Ghana is different and being married to a Ghanaian for me is a special attachment to this region of the world, and I am glad that I am back,” he said.
“Tomorrow is going to be unique. I am bringing all my energy and passion. The proof is that I am sitting in the studio now, and it’s going to be amazing. There is no place on the planet like it. Meet me there, and we are worshipping together,” he said.
The headline artiste, Travis Montorius Kwaku Greene, began his music career in 2007 with the release of The More via Greenelight Records.

Controversial media personality Afia Schwarzenegger has advised Ohemaa Mercy to stop hiding from the public after the alleged collapse of her marriage and fight back for all her properties from her estranged husband.
Mr. Isaac Twum-Ampofo, husband of the popular musician, is alleged to have seized all properties owned by Ohemaa Mercy with claims that he is the contractual manager of the songstress.
According to Afia Schwarzenegger, Mr. Twum has not only claimed lordship over her house, but he has also hijacked all her verified social media pages with the excuse that he created the pages for her in the capacity as a manager.
“Ohemaa Mercy, stop hiding…the man is threatening to say he will announce to the whole world that you have cheated on him. Come back for your properties. Come back for your sweat. Why, Why, your wife works hard to bring money home and as for you keep sleeping with backup artistes, maid, P.A…What is in your penis?” she said in Twi dialect in a video released on her Youtube page.
She reiterated that Mr. Twum has rushed to register his wife’s flagship program ‘Tehilla Experience’ in his name.
“He has gone a step further to register Tehilla Experience…Also if you don’t hear from Ohemaa Mercy on social media, it’s because her husband claims he opened the accounts for her. The man has also claimed ownership of the house,” she added.
Afia Schwarzenegger dared Mr. Twum to bring out any documents that indicate he indeed had a contractual management agreement with Ohemaa Mercy.
“A guy who sleeps with you shouldn’t do business with you. As for you Ohemaa Mercy, I don’t know why you are hiding, the man says he manages you. What contract does he have with you? Which contract? If I’m working and my husband supports me, does it mean the business is for my husband? Bra Twum, what you are doing is not good…You have claimed lordship over the house…”
It is alleged that award-winning gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy’s marriage has collapsed for almost a year now. It is alleged that the ‘Edin Jesus’ hitmaker packed her belongings from her matrimonial home two days after her annual Tehilla Experience Concert in August 2019.

The man has claimed lordship over the house. The children were also not allowed to see her, until recently,” Afia Schwarzenegger claimed.
According to Afia Schwarzenegger, the husband of Ohemaa Mercy, Mr. Isaac Twum-Ampofo, is alleged to have cheated on his wife with some of her backup singers.

She admitted that her husband had been very supportive. “My husband is my pillar and has been supportive. I thank God I met him and I love him dearly,†she said.
