Alan has no regrets leaving NPP, don’t implicate him – Solomon Owusu to NPP’s Ofosu Nkansah

A leading member of the Movement For Change, Solomon Owusu, has called out the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, for trying to involve Alan Kyerematen in their political affairs.

His response comes after Ofosu Nkansah made a Facebook post on April 11, 2025, calling for unity in the NPP as they prepare for the 2028 elections. In the same post, he appeared to welcome Alan Kyerematen back to the party, saying,

“Chief Alan and all those who left are welcome back to the Elephant family,” and ending with “Once an Osonoba…”

But Solomon Owusu didn’t take that lightly. He said Ofosu Nkansah and others in the NPP had attacked Alan before the 2024 elections and now shouldn’t pretend to be open to his return.

He made it clear that Alan has no regrets about leaving the NPP and has no plans of going back.

“Alan Kyerematen is very much happy with his political trajectory, and at the appropriate time, he will address the nation,” Owusu said.

He also reminded Ghanaians that just before the 2024 elections, the NPP was already losing ground. For him, the recent message from Ofosu Nkansah only confirms what Alan had seen and acted on long ago.

Solomon Owusu warned that if the NPP thinks using Alan’s name will help revive their declining party, they should be ready to deal with a strong response from the Movement For Change.

  • Former NEIP CEO slams NPP members downplaying party’s performance in 2024 polls

Former NEIP CEO slams NPP members downplaying party’s performance in 2024 polls

Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has taken a swipe at some New Patriotic Party (NPP) members for misrepresenting the party’s electoral performance in the 2024 general elections.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, February 8, Nkansah criticized individuals within the party for quoting an incorrect 38% as the NPP’s vote share, despite official Electoral Commission (EC) results indicating that the party secured 41.75% (rounded to 42%).

According to him, some NPP members were deliberately using the lower figure to serve their personal interests.

“If you will reduce your own Party’s percentage or use NDC propaganda figure because you want another person as flagbearer, then you are obviously not a ‘correct’ Party person,” he stated.

Nkansah further accused these individuals of undermining the party’s achievements and giving political ammunition to the opposition for their own agenda.

He also called out the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for exaggerating their own results, stating that while the opposition has been touting a 57% victory, the EC’s official figure for the NDC was 56.42%—a number that, mathematically, does not round up to 57%.

“NDC has been using 57% meanwhile you can’t round up 56.42 to 57,” he pointed out, arguing that such claims were part of a propaganda strategy.

Amid the ongoing debate over the election outcome, Nkansah urged NPP members to rely on verified figures and avoid spreading misinformation that could weaken party unity.

“We must be truthful with our own numbers and not fall for misinformation,” he concluded.

Riding in pragia to chop 4th instead of being Bawumia’s running mate – Ofosu Nkansah jabs Alan

Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has mocked Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, over his campaign efforts ahead of the December 7 general elections.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, November 27, Ofosu Nkansah ridiculed Kyerematen for choosing to campaign independently instead of accepting a potential role as Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He shared a video of Kyerematen riding in a pragia (a three-wheeled motorized tricycle) while soliciting votes, contrasting the scene with the prestige associated with being an NPP vice-presidential candidate.

“When some of us suggested in the early days Chief Alan should partner Dr Bawumia to bring unity, the way some of his people insulted us. But NPP vice is obviously more dignified than riding in pragia to chop 4th,” Ofosu Nkansah wrote.

The NEIP CEO suggested that Kyerematen’s decision to break away from the NPP has diminished his political stature and questioned the effectiveness of his presidential campaign, predicting a fourth-place finish in the elections.

Free SHS is inclusive thanks to 30% quota for less privileged – Ofosu Nkansah

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has lauded the government’s decision to reserve a 30% quota for less privileged students under the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

He described the initiative as a testament to the inclusivity of the Free SHS programme, ensuring that disadvantaged students are not left behind in the pursuit of education.

In a Facebook post on Friday, 22 November, Mr. Ofosu Nkansah highlighted the policy as a progressive step towards creating equal opportunities for all Ghanaian children, regardless of their economic background.

“From Wassa Akyempim to Achimota School. Free SHS does not discriminate. The 30% quota system for less privileged students is one of the good interventions under Free SHS.”

Mr. Ofosu Nkansah expressed confidence that the inclusive approach would produce a generation of educated, skilled, and ambitious young Ghanaians who can contribute to the nation’s growth.

He concluded by urging stakeholders, including parents and local communities, to support the policy and encourage their children to take advantage of the opportunities provided.

Stop using NPP colours in uncouth campaign – Ofosu Nkansah warns Kwaku Manu

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has called on actor Kwaku Manu to cease actions that could harm the image of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a Facebook post on Friday, November 22, Nkansah addressed a viral video in which Kwaku Manu, dressed in NPP colours emblazoned with “DPP,” urged Ghanaians to vote for the party. In the video, the actor suggested that failure to do so could result in election manipulation.

“If you will vote for us, do so. If you won’t, take your folly away,” Kwaku Manu said in the clip, which has drawn significant attention on social media.

The NEIP CEO expressed his displeasure with the actor’s conduct, urging him to stop “misbehaving” while associating himself with the NPP.

“Those who know Kwaku Manu should tell him to stop misbehaving with NPP colours,” Nkansah wrote. “He has every right to support any party of his choice, but we won’t take such mischief from him.”

Nkansah reiterated the importance of protecting the party’s reputation and urged supporters to act responsibly when expressing their political affiliations.

  • Alan will have issues with Kufuor approving Bawumia because he wanted to overtake him – Ofosu Nkansah

Alan will have issues with Kufuor approving Bawumia because he wanted to overtake him – Ofosu Nkansah

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has responded to Alan Kyerematen’s criticism of former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s endorsement of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Alan Kyerematen, flagbearer of the Movement for Change, recently criticised Kufuor for publicly supporting Dr. Bawumia ahead of the 2024 general elections, describing the endorsement as a decision that tarnishes the former president’s political legacy.

According to Mr. Kyerematen, Kufuor’s open backing of Bawumia had left a “big blot” on his career, given his revered status in Ghanaian politics.

Reacting to these comments in a Facebook post on Monday, November 18, Mr. Ofosu Nkansah dismissed Kyerematen’s assertions, suggesting that the former Trade Minister’s frustrations stem from his inability to match the political influence of both Kufuor and Bawumia.

“Someone (Alan Kyerematen) who thought he should have come before John Agyekum Kufuor would obviously have issues with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia overtaking him,” Mr. Ofosu Nkansah wrote.

He further argued that Kyerematen should focus on addressing substantive political matters rather than targeting individuals in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

NPP will win the election to shame naysayers – Ofosu Nkansah

Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), has expressed strong confidence in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) prospects for the upcoming general elections.

In a statement on Saturday, October 26, Ofosu Nkansah emphasized that the NPP is determined to secure victory, not only to lead the nation but also to counter skepticism within the party.

His message targeted certain NPP Members of Parliament and parliamentary candidates who have expressed doubts about the party’s chances in the elections.

“You are MP/PC and you are telling people we will not win the election. No wonder you are not showing any seriousness in campaigning. You do this and blame others for your issues. By the way, we are winning this election to shame people like you. Meanwhile, when we win such people will go lobbying for positions,” he posted.

While acknowledging concerns from some NPP members about challenges facing the party, Ofosu Nkansah dismissed them as unwarranted pessimism. He believes such doubts risk undermining the morale of the party’s supporters and campaign teams.

He called on all party members to unite and support the campaign, highlighting the NPP’s record of achievements and its vision for Ghana’s future. According to him, initiatives spearheaded by the NPP-led government, such as the NEIP’s efforts to foster innovation and support entrepreneurs, have significantly boosted the country’s economic landscape.

Mr. Ofosu Nkansah stressed that these accomplishments are essential for winning public trust and will ultimately demonstrate the NPP’s capability to lead, helping the party secure victory in the upcoming elections.
