Obuasi West Independent Candidate pledges to turn abandoned mining sites to tourist attraction

Independent Parliamentary Candidate for the Obuasi West Constituency, Kofi Appianin Ennin, has vowed to transform the constituency and drive significant development if entrusted with the mandate in the upcoming elections.

Speaking during the launch of his campaign at the Obuasi AGA Club House, Ennin outlined his ambitious vision to convert the region’s neglected mining sites into vibrant tourist attractions.

He believes this initiative would stimulate local tourism and generate new economic opportunities for the residents of Obuasi West.

In an interview with Adom News’ Isaac K. Normanyo, Ennin expressed disappointment over the constituency’s stagnation, despite its untapped potential.

He emphasised the urgent need for new leadership, highlighting his long-standing commitment to the community.

Over the years, Ennin has contributed to local development by building toilet facilities for schools, providing interest-free loans to over 2,000 women, and creating employment opportunities for the youth.

His bold plan to revitalise abandoned mining sites showcases his determination to lead the constituency towards progress.

Ennin expressed confidence that, with the support of voters, he can resolve the leadership challenges that have hindered Obuasi West’s development for years, promising a renewed focus on growth and community welfare.

Former Obuasi MP, Edward Ennin, attended the event and fully endorsed Kofi Appianin Ennin’s candidature. He reflected on his own tenure, citing projects like the construction of the Obuasi library, Nurses’ quarters, and the Adaase Clinic, which were funded through his common fund.

He also noted personal efforts, such as financing 150 boreholes and using GHC 60,000 of his own money to cover students’ school fees during delays in the common fund.

Edward Ennin likened Kofi Appianin Ennin to a “Moses,” portraying him as the right leader to rescue Obuasi West from its struggles and bring about the long-awaited change.
