NPP’s Nana B names Supreme Court Justice in Dame-Jakpa case

National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, also known as Nana B, has revealed the identity of the Supreme Court Justice referenced in a meeting where Attorney-General Godfred Dame discussed a high-profile financial crime trial with an accused person.

In a social media post on May 27, 2024, Nana B identified the Supreme Court Justice as Justice Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi.

A spokesperson for the Attorney-General confirmed on May 26, 2024, that a meeting took place between Godfred Dame and Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ongoing ambulance purchase trial involving Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson.

Wilberforce Mensah, speaking on behalf of the A-G, stated that the meeting occurred at the home of an unnamed Supreme Court Justice, who is Jakpa’s cousin.

He clarified that Dame was unaware of Jakpa’s attendance at the April 2024 meeting and, although they discussed Jakpa’s plea-bargaining proposal, the A-G did not seek Jakpa’s assistance to implicate Ato Forson.

Nana B’s post also claimed that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) alleges to have evidence implicating the A-G in unethical and criminal conduct, which reportedly consists of an audio recording from the mentioned meeting.

“We are reliably informed that NDC is trying every means to maliciously ‘doctor’ the said tape to exclude portions of the conversation and particularly the voice of the Supreme Court Justice, whose invitation the AG honoured out of courtesy.

“The full-length recording will reveal the AG never requested Richard Jakpa to skew his testimony in any manner as bandied around by the NDC,” he added.

Meanwhile, the NDC has dedicated its Moment of Truth press conference scheduled for today (May 28, 2024) to provide its incontrovertible evidence of the A-G’s misdeeds.

Details of the event are below:

TOPIC: Unprofessional and criminal conduct of the Attorney-General in the Ato Forson trial.

SPEAKER: Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman, NDC.

    DATE/TIME: 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

    VENUE: NDC Headquarters, Adabraka.

Below is Nana B’s full post

On the dishonorable and discredited Ato Forson’s trial:

The NDC has since the commencement of the prosecution of Ato Forson employed every rule in the book to frustrate, manipulate and curtail bringing Ato Forson to justice for the huge financial loss occasioned by Ghana at the expense of much-needed emergency health services for the Ghanaian populace.

The latest in this charade is the claim of possessing some damning evidence which has been found out to be a recording by Richard Jakpa at a meeting the AG was invited to by a Supreme Court judge, Justice Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi without being informed Richard Jakpa will be present.

We are reliably informed that NDC is trying every means to maliciously ‘doctor’ the said tape to exclude portions of the conversation and particularly the voice of the Supreme Court Justice, whose invitation the AG honoured out of courtesy.

The full-length recording will reveal the AG never requested Richard Jakpa to skew his testimony in any manner as bandied around by the NDC.

Justice they say must be done even if the heavens fall and no amount of scheming by the NDC and its affiliates will exonerate any person who participated in misrepresenting ordinary vans as ambulances to the Ghanaian populace.

  • We will eat Sonnie Badu should he turn into a pig – Chief Binney

We will eat Sonnie Badu should he turn into a pig – Chief Binney

A former deputy National Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Binney, has reacted to preacher Sonnie Badu’s claims that pork attracts demonic spirits.

The Rockhill Church pastor’s claims have since stirred massive reactions, which includes a large section of social media, refuting the assertion.

Earlier, while addressing his congregants, Sonnie Badu said,

“When the devil wants to get through to you, they must first test your spiritual appetite. The number one way through which witches invade bodies is food. Also, the bible declares that some animals are unclean. What do you think an unclean animal is? In order words, when that unclean animal is found in you spiritually, it gives the witch quick access to jump in.

“Anything that has pork, pork is unclean! Even when you go to the Chinese restaurant and they ask for your order and you say pork, they keep asking you just to be sure, because they are aware of the kind of animal you are requesting to have,” he stressed.

But reacting on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrooko’ morning show, host Kwame Sefa Kayi read out some interesting messages from listeners, including NDC’s Chief Binney.

“If Sonnie Badu himself turn into kwii (pig), we will eat him,” a message from Chief Biney read by the host said.

However, Rev Sonnie Badu has asked critics of his pork claims to seek the right answers from the witches and wizards themselves if they think he is not telling the truth.

“You can ask all witches and wizards”, he challenged.

  • Vote for the devil you know and not the angel you don’t know – Akamba tells NDC delegates

The current National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the opposition party, Joshua Akamba, has urged party delegates to support national executives who are running for re-election.

According to him, the election of George Opare Addo and Dr. Hannah Bissiw as National Youth Organiser and National Women Organiser, respectively, are indications that the delegates appreciate the work done by the current executives prior to the 2020 general elections.

Joshua Akamba explained that his sterling performance as the National Organizer has helped the NDC attain equal seats in parliament with the majority, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He added that with his help, the party has been able to shore up the electoral deficit in the country.

This, he added, was also because he personally bought pickup trucks for regional organizers of the party, as well as lobbying for motorcycles for all 275 constituency organisers to enable them to campaign for the party.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa TV, Joshua Akamba said that a vote against him would be an injustice to the party.

“The delegates won’t make that mistake.

“The delegates are discerning, and they believe in experience. Now, Opare Addo has won. Hanna Bissiw has won. Elorm, who is an old person, has won, so it should tell you that people want us to win power for us to salvage this country, and they won’t make the mistake of changing us.

“The delegates know that the strategies of the party gave us equal numbers in parliament. The devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know. That is exactly what I am telling the people—that I am the devil they know and I am better than the angel they don’t know,” he told host Kwesi Parker-Wilson of the Oyerepa Breakfast Show.

Joshua Akamba further stated that the work of a national organizer is not on Facebook or WhatsApp, arguing that his contenders who have taken their campaign and work to social media lack appreciation for the work they are vying for.

He assured the delegates that he would continue to work assiduously to ensure victory for the party in 2024.

  • You dont need to be a ‘macho’ man to lead the NDC- Mahdi Jibril

Aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Organizer Mahdi Jibril argues that the best person for the job is someone who is well versed in the scientific approach to work and the data of electoral processes.

He believes there is no link between being the national organiser of the party and being physically fit.

“Being a national organizer has nothing to do with body physique. People are of the notion that if you want to be a national organiser, you need to be well-built but they forget the position of the organizer is not about carrying timber and logs at the office. It is about the scientific approach to the work and the data. You are working with the voter register and the party register, and if you don’t understand the dynamics of this, then you will lose the election,” Mahdi Jibril exclusively told Boama Darko Isaac on Accra-based Original TV.

“You must be a credible organizer who can be trusted by all and is knowledgeable about electoral issues.”

Being the current deputy organizer of the party, he asserts that an organizer must be able to protect the ballot after voting and not only focus on getting people to turn up to vote. “The organizer must have electoral and research understanding, being abreast of electoral dynamics as well.”

Having shown direction and dedication in his capacity as a deputy national Organiser, Mahdi Jibril believes the party is deficient in organization and pledges to resolve that, leading the NDC to achieve victory in election 2024.
