Video: Some NSS personnel at Legon Presec waiting for validation approval

A widely circulated video on social media, captures National Service Personnel (NSS) waiting for validation approval at Legon Presec Madina, challenging official statements by authorities that personnel consistently delay in submission of their forms on time.

The NSS is faced with increasing controversy amid reports of delays in the disbursement of allowances, a concern addressed by Executive Director Osei Assibey Antwi during a Public Accounts Committee session.

Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Osei Assibey Antwi, has attributed the recent delays in the disbursement of National Service personnel allowances to challenges within the personnel submission process.

This revelation was made during a session of the Public Accounts Committee sitting in Parliament.

Antwi clarified that the delay primarily originated from the personnel’s delay in submitting appointment letters and navigating the intricate validation process.

He detailed the multi-step process, starting with personnel submitting information, followed by district-level processing before entry into the system for printing.

He acknowledged the evolving dynamics of today’s youth, drawing a contrast to the time when strict adherence to submission deadlines was the norm during national service.

“The youth of today are not like us. Contrary to our time when submissions were due by the 15th of each month, it’s surprising that as of now, in February, a large number of service personnel have not submitted their appointment letters.”

Pass the bill. Pass the bill and I will expose your family members, I will expose your children who are gay people, who are lesbians.”
