Anant Ambani is set to marry Radhika Merchant, daughter of Indian pharmaceutical moguls Viren and Shaila Merchant, in a traditional Hindu ceremony taking place in Mumbai on Friday.
The wedding festivities began with pre-celebrations and parties in March, followed by a European cruise that hosted over 800 guests.

Wednesday’s Royal and Noble Sale at Sotheby’s in London included the auctioning off of the Attallah Cross.
The US reality TV star won the auction after a five-minute bidding war between four participants.
Princess Diana frequently wore the amethyst cross pendant by opulent jewelry designer Garrard in the 1920s.
The princess most notably wore it in October 1987 to the London charity banquet for Birthright, an organization defending the human rights of pregnant and postpartum women.
Large amethyst stones are set in the cross-shaped pendant, which is encircled by 5.2-carat diamonds.
It was initially purchased by businessman Naim Attallah in the 1980s, and because of his acquaintance with Diana, he frequently lent it to her over a long period of time. The item was auctioned off by his estate.
In contrast to Sotheby’s pre-sale estimate of £80,000 to £120,000, reality TV star Kardashian paid a total of £163,800 for the cross.

It was first bought by businessman Naim Attallah in the 1980s who, as a result of his friendship with Diana, loaned it to her several times over many years. It was his estate that put the item up for auction.
Reality TV star Kardashian paid a total of £163,800 for the cross, far higher than Sotheby’s pre-sale estimate of £80,000 to £120,000.
Head of jewellery at Sotheby’s London Kristian Spofforth said: “Jewellery owned or worn by the late Princess Diana very rarely comes on to the market, especially a piece such as the Attallah Cross, which is so colourful, bold and distinctive.
“To some extent, this unusual pendant is symbolic of the princess’s growing self-assurance in her sartorial and jewellery choices, at that particular moment in her life.”
It is not the first historic fashion item Kardashian has shown an interest in.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have officially settled their divorce.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, West Kanye and Kardashian agreed on joint custody with “equal access” to their four kids—North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.
In addition, Ye will send Kim $200,000 per month in child support. He’s also responsible to take care of 50 percent of the children’s educational expenses, as well as 50 percent of their children’s security expenses.
“As for property, the division of assets is in accordance with their prenup,” a source told TMZ. “And, according to the prenup, both Kim and Kanye waived spousal support.”
In a separate Tuesday report, the outlet added that Ye gave Kim the $4.5 million house he purchased next door. “The home borders Kim’s lot, so she’ll likely just tear it down—as it needs a ton of work—and add to her acreage,” TMZ wrote, adding West still owns a $60M Malibu beach house as well as properties in Calabasas, Chicago, Belgium, and Wyoming.
Kim and Kanye married back in 2014, following her divorce from Kris Humphries. Kim filed for divorce from Ye in February 2021, after seven years of marriage.
Back in February of this year, Kardashian reflected on the couple’s divorce in an interview with Vogue, where the reality TV star explained she “did what made other people happy” for a long time.
“For so long, I did what made other people happy,” Kardashian said. “And I think in the last two years I decided, I’m going to make myself happy. And that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it’s important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy. I’ve chosen myself. I think it’s okay to choose you.”
A month after Kim opened up about their divorce, Ye followed suit by taking to Instagram in March and sharing a lengthy poem titled “Divorce,” which arrived two days after Kardashian was declared legally single, with a judge granting her the ability to return to her maiden name.
“Divorce feels like full blown Covid. Divorce feels like your doctor don’t know shit,” Ye’s poem began. “Divorce feels like you’re walking on glass. Divorce feels like you’re running through a glass wall. Divorce feels like you’re being bullied in a class hall. Divorce feels like you’re getting beat up in the mall.”
In a divorce settlement, Kanye West was ordered to pay Kim Kardashian$200,000 (£167,000) per month in child support.
Their four children will be shared between the former rapper and reality TV star.
After eight years with West, who has legally changed his name to Ye, Kardashian filed for divorce in 2021.
It comes after several companies severed ties with Ye due to controversies such as antisemitic remarks.
In March, both parties were declared legally single, with Kardashian also dropping the “West” from her surname.
In court documents filed on Tuesday, issues concerning the division of property and custody of their children were resolved.
The two parties should consult with each other on majordecisions about their children’s welfare, the documents state.
Expenses for the children’s security, school and college will be shared.
In addition, Ye is expected to pay $200,000 a month in child support – which the New York Post reported is because the children will spend the majority of their time with Kardashian.
The couple have four children: North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.
In several statements submitted earlier, Kardashian, 42, had said she “very much” wanted the marriage to be ended, adding that this would “help Kanye to accept” that the relationship was over.
Ye, 45, had previously fought against the separation.
He has faced controversy in recent months, and has been dropped by several brands, including Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga.
The rapper provoked widespread criticism earlier this year after attending Paris Fashion Week wearing a t-shirt bearing a “White Lives Matter” slogan – a phrase often used by white supremacists.
He then claimed his critics were being paid by a secret cabal of Jewish people, a common trope of antisemitism.
Earlier this week, Ye announced his intention to run for US president in 2024.
He previously ran in 2020, but gained just 70,000 votes.

Kardashian broke her silence earlier today, explaining why she waited so long to speak out. She said she was “disgusted and outraged” by the images.
I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened.
As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period.
I appreciate Balenciaga’s removal of the campaigns and apology. In speaking with them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary measures for this to never happen again.
Kardashian posted an additional message on her Instagram Stories in which she indicated that she’s in the process of re-evaluating her relationship with Balenciaga.
“As for my future with Balenciaga, I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with – and the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children.”
The brand has since issued an apology and vowed to remove the campaign immediately.

“This year I’m really thankful for the people I have met in all of the prisons around the country,” she captioned a series of snaps from the event. “This week @realtristan13 and I had an inspiring Friendsgiving dinner with the young men incarcerated at Camp Kilpatrick.”

Pete Davidson makes an appearance in the latest episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, revealing the gloves-focused manner in which Kim Kardashian turned down his attempt at getting her number at the 2021 Met Gala.
The episode in question, titled “It’s Met Monday,” focuses on the larger Kardashian-Jenner family’s journey to the red carpet for this year’s edition of the fundraising event. Ye was in second place on the list of hip-hop highest earners earlier this year, with $250 million in earnings projected for 2021, but after his contract with Adidas was terminated due to his anti-Semitic comments, he’s dropped to third place in terms of net worth.
He was said to be worth $2 billion earlier this year. Diddy is now in second place, having previously trailed behind Ye with a total net worth of $1 billion.
His Cîroc partnership with Diageo is said to account for the majority of his wealth, but other assets such as Revolt and DeLeón Tequila have certainly helped; he made $90 million last year.

The 45-year-old rapper and designer lost numerous partnerships, collaborations, and deals in the wake of his comments, including ones with Adidas, GAP, Balenciaga, Vogue, his management team at CAA, and reportedly Def Jam Records.
In his latest post titled “LOVE SPEECH,” Ye acknowledged these losses, which have caused him to be knocked off the Forbes billionaires list.
“I lost 2 billion dollars in one day and I’m still alive,” Ye wrote. “This is love speech. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. The people is who I am.”
It’s been a tumultuous few weeks for Ye who debuted his controversial White Lives Matter shirts at Paris Fashion Week, and followed that up with a series of controversies, including multiple anti-Semitic remarks, which caused his Instagram and Twitter accounts to be temporarily locked.
Numerous brands and celebrities, including his ex Kim Kardashian, have spoken out in the weeks since, condemning anti-Semitism and racism.
Following the lead of Adidas and Gap, the two companies have distanced themselves from the Grammy-winning musician after he made anti-Semitic remarks.
Kanye West was escorted out of Skechers in Los Angeles after he “showed up unannounced and uninvited,” and Madame Tussauds removed its waxwork of the controversial rapper from public view.

They wrote: “Kanye is a producer and sampler of music. Last week he sampled and remixed a classic tune that has charted for over 3,000 years – the lie that Jews are evil and conspire to control the world for their own gain.
“This song was performed acapella in the time of the Pharaohs, Babylon and Rome, went acoustic with The Spanish Inquisition and Russia’s Pale of Settlement, and Hitler took the song electric. Kanye has now helped mainstream it in the modern era.”

Khloé posted a message on Instagram that read: “I support my Jewish friends and the Jewish people.” The same statement, which was first shared by Jessica Seinfeld, has been shared by many other celebrities, including Kris, Kendall, Reese Witherspoon, and Amy Schumer.
The move comes on the heels of Kardashian’s ex-brother-in-law Kanye’s recent public outbursts, which climaxed earlier this month with Ye making harmful and offensive comments on social media and in interviews, including tweeting that he planned to go “death con 3 on Jewish people,” seemingly in reference to DEFCON 3.
“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” he wrote at the time. “The funny thing is I actually can’t be anti-Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
Twitter subsequently removed his tweet for violating its rules. Ye’s latest Drink Champs episode was taken down shortly after premiering this week; it contained anti-Semitism and misinformation about the death of George Floyd. An already-taped appearance on LeBron James’ The Shop was scrapped for similar reasons.
Since then, Balenciaga and Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour have decided to cut ties with Ye, who over the weekend retained the counsel of Camille Vasquez, one of the attorneys who helped Johnny Depp in his defamation trail with ex-wife Amber Heard.
Vasquez, along with her Los Angeles-based law firm Brown Rudnick, will provide Kanye with legal counsel on a “variety of business matters.”

Balenciaga is moving on from its collaboration with Kanye “Ye” West. Kering, the parent company for the luxury brand, confirmed the split in a statement to Women’s Wear Daily on Friday.
“Balenciagahas no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist,” Kering says.

Despite saying he and Kardashian, who filed for divorce from the rapper in 2021, had been “co-parenting” better, West told Tucker Carlson earlier this month that he isn’t willing to “compromise” when it comes to his kids’ education.
“Right now we’ve come to a compromise — but I’m not finished because I don’t compromise — but we’ve come to a compromise that my kids come to my school after school and they learn choir,” he told Carlson.

The “Donda” rapper and reality star have been feuding for months about where to send their kids to school, with the rapper suggesting an “idea” that they split time between their private school and his Donda Academy.

However, Kardashian has been reluctant to send their kids to West’s mysterious school, which has yet to be accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The Skims founder currently has custody of their children “80 percent” of the time and has reportedly cut off all communication from West amid his social media tirades.
Sources exclusively told Page Six that the beauty guru refuses to talk to West about their kids’ schedules without her assistant.

“They have had zero communication in several weeks, and all communication regarding the kids’ schedules are now coordinated through assistants,” an insider told us.
Although Kardashian is “very upset” about Ye’s behaviour, the reality star knows “everyone is now seeing for themselves” what was the “catalyst for the divorce.”
Our insider added that Kardashian “felt it was best to end the marriage when she realized she could no longer help someone that didn’t want to be helped.”

Ye’s shocking decision to move forward with his divorce proceedings comes amid weeks of racist and anti-Semitic remarks from the “Heartless” rapper.
Earlier this week, West claimed George Floyd died from a “fentanyl” overdose rather than the brutal force used by then-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.
Since the outlandish claims, Floyd’s family has sued the rapper for $250 million for “undermining & diminishing the Floyd family’s fight.”

During the same interview, West made a series of anti-Semitic comments about “the Jewish media” just days after being banned from Instagram and Twitter for making similar comments.
In a since-deleted tweet the rapper wrote in a disturbing post: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”
His social media outbursts come after West made headlines for wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt amid what his close friends are calling his worst “psychiatric episode.”
According to TMZ, a man was arrested Saturday morning after he was spotted walking around the Hidden Hills property in California. Sources tell the outlet the individual managed to get past the community gates and make his way to Kim’s front door; but before he could enter the home, a brief scuffle ensued between him and security. Insiders say the altercation ended with guards pinning the main to the ground, as they waited for police to arrive.
The man was ultimately arrested at around 11 a.m., and hit with battery and trespassing charges. It’s unclear if Kim or anyone else was at home during the incident.
Sources say the man “has an infatuation with Kim,” and is known to officers in the area, as he’s reportedly been spotted on surveillance footage.
Kim has yet to publicly address the incident.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Kim has dealt with obsessed fans. In 2021, a man was slapped with felony charges after he showed up at her Hidden Hills gated community, effectively violating a five-year restraining order. The stalker, identified as Nicholas Costanza, allegedly sent Kim the morning after pill, a diamond ring, and threatening messages.
In the month before, Kim was granted a protective order against Charles Peter Zelenoff, a 32-year-old man who claimed to be in love with her. Sources say Zelenoff had shared videos of himself outside Kim’s property, and would frequently take to social media to proclaim his love for the reality TV star.
Following word that Gunna had again been denied pre-trial release, Kim Kardashianhas spoken out amid the growing criticism surrounding the larger YSL case.
“Imagine sitting in a jail cell for 155 days with no bond when the only evidence against you is a ticket for an unrelated window tint and someone saying you weren’t in a gang,” Kardashian said in multiple-part posts shared to Instagram Stories and Twitter on Thursday night. “That’s where my friend Sergio finds himself today after having his bond denied for the third time despite there being zero evidence that he committed a crime.”
Gunna’s third bond motion was rejected this week, with a judge asserting the same witness intimidation argument used in prior rejections. Gunna’s legal team, meanwhile, has repeatedly noted there is “no evidence” against their client that would support holding him until trial.
“The State has presented no evidence to support its claims of dangerousness and has dismissed the only serious overt act (75) that was present when the first bond hearing was held,” Gunna’s legal team explained in the third motion.
In her statement, Kardashian pointed to several aspects of how Gunna has been treated since the case began, including calling out the witness intimidation argument.

On the latest episode of The Kardashians, per People, Kim recalled an intimate encounter with the former SNL star during a stay at a Los Angeles hotel. “You know what’s so crazy?” she said, accompanied by her grandmother Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon, mother Kris Jenner, and sister Khloé. “Pete and I were staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel last weekend, and we were sitting in front of the fireplace, just talking for hours, and I was like, ‘My grandma told me that you really live life when you have sex in front of the fireplace,’ and so we had sex in front of the fireplace in honor of you.”
Immediately after, she laughed and added, “I know that’s really creepy.” Her 88-year-old grandma, however, appeared unphased by the story. “Not in the lobby?” she joked back, to which Kim added, “But how creepy to think about your grandma before you have sex?” MJ replied, “I know, but I was younger once.
At the time the episode was recorded, Pete was set to join a Blue Origin mission to space. While he ultimately didn’t go through with the trip, he was heard talking about it with Kim during a phone call in the episode.
Kim asked Pete if he had a will, in the event the mission went wrong. “I’m making one now,” he said, to which he was asked if he was nervous about the trip. “Nah, my personal life is scarier, to be completely honest,” he said. “I can’t wait to get the fuck away from everybody… I think I’m gonna stay up there, babe.”
During this week’s new episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian laughed over some text messages from her ex-husband, Kanye West.
While Kim was in Milan, Italy for a Prada fashion show, she shared, “Look what Kanye texted me: No white glasses. Make security wear black gloves. The orange look made me so mad, I would have went to jail before I went out in that. I’ll be home for North’s game.”
When Kim and Kanye were together, Ye was the one who styled almost all of Kim’s looks, but Kim was on her own after she filed for a divorce from Kanye in February 2021.
While some may remember when Kanye called Kim to tell her her “career is over” when he first saw one of her outfits that he hadn’t styled, apparently, the exes are still critiquing each other’s ‘fits months later.
“We can laugh about things we like or don’t like,” explained Kim. “No matter how crazy things are sometimes, we’re always going to be family and I’ll text him back and be, like, ‘You know you have been wearing those boots for a long time. So, when you’re ready to change your outfit, let me know, and then you can have advice on mine.’”
This week Kanye has been catching a lot of heat for wearing a “White Lives Matter’ t-shirt during his surprise Yeezy Season 9 fashion show in Paris and, the following day, continued to make waves on social media when he went after Vogue contributor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who shared her thoughts on his controversial clothing. On his Instagram, Ye posted pictures of Karefa-Johnson along with captions criticizing her style. So, at least Kim isn’t the only one whose style he’s dissing?
In order to resolve allegations made by the US Securities and Exchange Commission regarding a post on Kim Kardashian’s Instagram account, she has agreed to pay $1.26 million (£1.12 million).
According to the SEC, the reality TV actress did not declare she received $250,000 (£220,000) for endorsing a bitcoin asset on her feed.
The commission said the post was touting EMAX tokens, the asset security being offered by EthereumMax, and she was paid by EthereumMax, through an intermediary, but did not reveal the payment.
In June last year, Kardashianposted to her 331 million followers writing: “ARE YOU INTO CRYPTO??? THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE BUT SHARING WHAT MY FRIENDS JUST TOLD ME ABOUT THE ETHEREUM MAX TOKEN.”
Her Instagram post contained a link to the EthereumMax website, which provided instructions for potential investors to purchase EMAX tokens.
Under US law, people who tout a certain stock or crypto security need to reveal not only that they are getting paid, but also the amount, the source, and the nature of those payments, SEC chair Gary Gensler said.
He also said the Kardashian case was “a reminder that, when celebrities or influencers endorse investment opportunities, including crypto asset securities, it doesn’t mean that those investment products are right for all investors”.
Lawyers for Kardashian released a statement saying she was pleased to have resolved the matter.
“Kardashian fully cooperated with the SEC from the very beginning and she remains willing to do whatever she can to assist the SEC in this matter,” the statement read.
“She wanted to get this matter behind her to avoid a protracted dispute. The agreement she reached with the SEC allows her to do that so that she can move forward with her many different business pursuits.”
Failing to disclose payment for promoting securities is a violation of federal law. The $1.26m (£1.12m) she paid includes her fee for the promotion, the interest and the $1m penalty.
The reality TV star isn’t the only celebrity to have been charged by the SEC over crypto promotions.
Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr and music producer DJ Khaled were both charged in 2018 for allegedly not disclosing payments they received for promoting crypto coins.
Kim Kardashian. You know her because she’s a reality TV and social media star, an entrepreneur, and a budding lawyer. She’s a whole brand. And an increasingly powerful force in business.
Now she’s entering the secretive, not-so-pretty world of private equity, aka the land of “vulture capitalists.”
Here’s the deal: Kim Kis partnering with Jay Sammons, a former executive with Carlyle Group, to launch SKKY Partners, a private equity firm that plans to invest in areas such as consumer products, hospitality, luxury, digital commerce and media. Her mother, Kris Jenner, is also a partner.
Quick explainer: Private equity can include a lot of different investments, but the vast majority of the industry involves “leveraged buyouts” or LBOs, in which a firm buys a struggling company, loads it up with debt, and then overhauls its business to (hopefully) make it run better, and then sells it or takes it public. In about 20% of cases, the target company ends up going bankrupt within 10 years (See also: the slow death of Toys R Us).
For the rank-and-file, getting bought by a PE firm is usually not a good sign, as it may mean layoffs or other cutbacks coming. But for investors, it can be a bonanza.
Private equity has been around for 40-plus years, says Jeffrey Hooke, a professor at Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School, in part because the high fees are so tantalizing to fund managers.
“It’s survived by being secretive and by perpetuating a myth that it’s providing great returns to investors — it fundamentally is not.”
PE firms are often seen as vultures, swooping in to feast on dying entities. But more recently, according to a report from Mother Jones, the bulk of modern PE work is “not to finish off sick companies, but rather to stalk and gut the healthy ones.”
Oh, and regular people can’t really access these investments. Like most things with “private” in the name, this corner of the finance world is reserved for elite institutional investors or people with verrrrry deep pockets.
Getting back to Kim…There’s a lot we don’t know about the new fund. It hasn’t begun raising money yet, nor did the founders specify the types of investments they want to make.
On first glance, PE might seem an odd fit for someone as powerful and glamorous as Kim Kardashian, who certainly doesn’t need to go sniffing around for distressed assets to buy up and extract value from. She has become a billionaire, according to Forbes, from the success of Skims, her hugely successful apparel business, and her KKW makeup line.
But not all PE involves hunting down companies in distress, and based on what Kardashian has said so far, it looks like SKKY Partners will lean more toward growth equity — as in, companies that are past the startup phase but could use a little financial engineering, along with some of that Kardashian halo effect.
Here’s what she told the WSJ about the new venture on Wednesday: “The exciting part is to sit down with these founders and figure out what their dream is. I want to support what that is, not change who they are in their DNA, but just support and get them to a different level.”
…Which doesn’t sound like the kind of scavengery that PE is known for.
BOTTOM LINE
PE is hot right now. Much like the celeb-fueled SPAC craze of 2020, it’s the kind of investment that comes with a lot of risk. But even if all your deals fall apart, you’re still collecting big fees from deep-pocketed investors.
Which is partly why so many celebrities — including LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Serena Williams, and Will Smith, just to name a few — are putting money into PE.
According to Hooke, a $500 million PE fund could bring in $10 million a year in fixed fees, regardless of whether the fund makes any money.
“If I was a celebrity, I would jump in and start a private equity fund,” Hooke says. “You can’t lose… investors are paying you a lot of money to manage the investments. And you yourself often are putting up maybe 1% of the money and getting 20%-plus of the profits. How is that a bad deal?”
Ye has said he has “new respect” for ex-wife Kim Kardashian and felt sorrow for causing stress in the relationship since Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021.
“This is the mother of my children, and I apologize for any stress that I have caused, even in my frustration, because God calls me to be stronger,” Ye, the recording artist and entrepreneur formerly known as Kanye West, said in an exclusive morning interview that aired Thursday on “Good Morning America.” “I need this person to be less stressed and of the best, sound mind and as calm as possible to be able to raise those children at the end of the day.”
In a wide-ranging interview that covered Donda Academy, a school he started in California, to his plans to once again run for president, Ye repeatedly circled back to the responsibility that he has as a celebrity and his insistence that he have a say in the future of the four children he fathered with the global social media and reality TV star.
“As a dad and as a Christian. And I have a right to have a voice on what my kids are wearing, what they’re watching, what they’re eating,” he said. “I have a platform where I get to say what so many dads can’t say out loud.”
Relationship with his children
Ye said he “absolutely” wants his children to attend Donda Academy, “a gospel school” he created named after Donda West, his late mother who chaired the Department of English, Communications, Media Arts and Theatre at Chicago State University on Chicago’s South Side. She died in 2007.
“I’m their dad. It has to be co-parenting. It’s not up to only the woman. Like, men have a choice also. Men’s voices matter,” he said.
The private school, which Ye said was originally named the Yeezy Christian Academy, is located in Simi Valley, California. According to the school’s website, the academy’s mission is to help students “learn fundamentals, grow in their faith, and experience two enrichment classes.”
Ye said the school gives “kids practical tools that they need in a world post the iPhone being created.” He said the school is in its third year and has an enrollment of 82 students.
“So many schools are made to set kids up for industries that don’t even matter anymore,” he said, pointing out that the focus areas of the school is “on practical skills” such as engineering, computer programming and farming. He added that the school has tutors who focus on specific areas and could “actually turn your kids into, like, geniuses.”
“And if your kids are geniuses … they’re three grade levels ahead,” he added.
Ye told ABC News he hired a female basketball coach to help improve the skills of North, his 9-year-old daughter. He also helps coach North “every morning,” he said. The effort, Ye added, showed dramatic results. “She trained every day and I really stayed on her. And when she came back, she had the confidence,” he said.
Exiting the Gap
Ye, who created the fashion brand Yeezy, also addressed the dissolving of his partnership with the Gap. Last week, Ye sent the Gap a letter terminating the 10-year partnership, saying the clothing retailer breached its contract to sell his Yeezy Gap line of apparel. Ye said he plans to open his own line of stores simply called YZY.
Mark Breitbard, Gap brand president and CEO, said the company and West are “not aligned” in how they work together, according to a memo sent to employees and reviewed by the Wall Street Journal. “Simply put…while we share a vision how we work together to deliver this vision is not aligned,” Breitbard wrote, according to the Journal.
In addition to criticizing the Gap, Ye has recently criticized Adidas, a retailer that carries his apparel. Ye has been working with the athletic brand since their partnership was announced in 2016, but lashed out at Adidas when the brand released its Adilette 22 sandals, which resemble Ye’s Yeezy slides. Ye called their footwear “a fake Yeezy.”
“It was all kind of a disregard for the voice of something that I co-created. I co-created the product at Adidas. I co-created the product at Gap,” Ye said.
“That means that I was there for some specific agenda, not for Yeezy Gap to be everything that it could be, or this dream that I had about what the Gap could be,” he said. “It’s time for me to make my own thing.”
Adidas Chief Executive Kasper Rorsted said in August that West was probably the most important partner the company had, according to the Wall Street Journal. Adidas is trying to find a path toward continuing the partnership, the paper reported.
Since his ongoing battle with Adidas, Ye said he’s determined to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes of his brand.
“We had to level up,” Ye said. “Really show ’em who’s the new boss in town, that I’m the boss of me. I’m no longer just the man ridin’ atop the polo horse. I’m not just a mascot in the middle of the games, gettin’ the crowd hyped up sayin’, ‘Hey, wear this, do this,’ but you know, just learn financial engineering. Learn how to — learn how to really run a company.”
Ye added that he plans to move forward with an Oct. 3 fashion show in Paris that was initially planned in conjunction with the Gap. He secured a new producer for the event, he said, via Instagram.
Today, YZY Gap engineered by Balenciaga announced a new line of outerwear and knitwear, which will be made available online. YZY Gap engineered by Balenciaga also announced that YZY Gap will be available at stores outside of the U.S. for the first time at Gap’s Tokyo and Shanghai flagship stores.
Potentially, another presidential run
In November 2020, Ye conceded his run for president. He had loaned $6.8 million to his 2020 presidential committee, essentially self-funding his campaign during the first month and a half of his run, according to a Federal Election Commission disclosure filing.
Ye said he “absolutely” plans to run for president again but did not specify when.
“That time wasn’t in God’s time,” he said.
Ye said he is often misunderstood because of his adamancy for his Christian faith, which drives him to perform “Sunday Service” with a gospel choir at different locations around the U.S. He said he’s a “radical” for wanting to promote “the idea of family, the idea of God, the idea of protecting your children’s innocence for as long as possible.”
“When you remove the love and fear of God, you open up the love and fear of everything else. And it’s easier to have sheep when people don’t have God. It’s easier to control the people if people are not controlled by God. Because then they can be controlled by how many likes they have or whatever’s happening on their TikTok or how much money or the perception that people have,” he said.
“But we only have one audience here and that audience is God. And He’s watching us at all times,” Ye said. “He’s got my back.”
Summer may be over, but Kim Kardashian is already laying the groundwork for a fancy seaside vacation next year — and many more summers to come, it would seem. Property records show everyone’s favorite reality TV star-turned-billionaire shapewear mogul and aspiring lawyer has paid $70.4 million for an oceanfront estate on the Encinal Bluffs, one of Malibu’s most coveted neighborhood pockets. The off-market deal closed last week.
The deal is by far the priciest residential transfer in Malibu this year, and is also 2022’s fourth-priciest California home sale, behind only the $75 million Drake paid for his new home, a $120 million Holmby Hills deal and Bel Air’s infamous “The One” megamansion, which sold at auction for $126 million. Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker held the Malibu listing; Tomer Fridman of Compass repped the buyer.
Built in 1944 but extensively remodeled in the 1990s and again in 2016, the Mediterranean villa-style house was once the centerpiece of a 6-acre estate long owned by biotech entrepreneur Walter de Logi, who died in 2014. The following year, his widow Lynda sold the big property for more than $50 million to her next-door neighbors, Cindy Crawford and longtime husband Rande Gerber.
The 6-acre estate was subsequently split into two parcels: one of them a 2.8-acre, mostly vacant lot and the other a 3.2-acre spread containing the main house. Crawford kept the smaller parcel for herself but sold the 3.2-acre one in 2018 for $45 million to Adam Weiss, a retired hedge fund manager from California’s Silicon Valley.
Weiss subsequently re-landscaped the somewhat dated premises with the help of Harrison Design. To take the property to “the next level,” the team enhanced the home’s Southern California character by “redirecting the driveway, bringing in several tons of hand-selected boulders, and even using cranes to move 40-foot trees” to make the approach much more compelling, per the firm’s senior principal Jesse Harrison.
And it was Weiss who sold the property to Kardashian, after living there for a few years. After listing it in March with a $99.5 million price tag, the ask was slashed to about $90 million before Kardashian came calling with a significantly lower offer.
Weiss, 55, is moving to the Hawaiian island of Maui, where last year he and wife Barret Swatek paid $45 million for an oceanfront estate not far from Jeff Bezos’ vacation home. Kardashian, 41, continues to mainly reside at her vast estate in Hidden Hills. She also has two “spare” Hidden Hills homes, one of which recently popped up for sale, and still owns a luxury condo in Calabasas and a vacant lot in La Quinta’s prestigious Madison Club.
And for those curious, Kardashian’s new estate is about 14 miles up the coast from Kanye West’s $57 million Brutalist spread, so not exactly sugar-borrowing distance. Besides Crawford, some of Kardashian’s nearest new Malibu neighbors include retired TV super-producer Marcy Carsey, Leo DiCaprio, Neil Diamond and Michael Eisner.
Locked behind an impenetrable hedge wall and a towering gate, Kardashian’s new Malibu mansion is invisible from the street, set at the end of a very long driveway.
Inside, the nearly 7,500-square-foot house includes four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, plus multiple spacious living areas. Pocketing walls of glass display dazzling whitewater and sunset views.
They may have broken up, but Kim Kardashianthinks Pete Davidson is “a cutie.”
While she and the actor and comedian split in August after being romantically linked since October 2021, Kardashian had nothing but kind things to say about him in a recently published Interview cover story.
“He’s literally such a good person, they don’t really make them like him anymore,” she said. “I’m excited for what he has coming up.”
The criminal justice advocate and law student also shared some details about her forthcoming true crime podcast on Spotify.
“I’m obsessed,” Kardashian said of her love of true crime. “I had to stop watching ‘Dateline’ and all the shows when I was studying in law school.”
Her new podcast is titled, “The System,” she said.
“The first season is about a really crazy case where a guy got the death sentence for a triple homicide that happened in Ohio,” Kardashian explained. “There are so many twists and turns with how it was handled—or mishandled—and we take the listener along for a journey in search of the truth.”
When it comes to being a sex symbol it can be “complicated” for Kim Kardashian West.
In an interview with The Cut, the reality star/beauty mogul talked about her life over the past decade and how she’s influenced culture.
In terms of being viewed as a sex symbol, she said: “It can be complicated.”
“I definitely see the things that I brought on myself, the biggest being the robbery,” Kardashian West said of having been robbed in Paris in 2016. “Just being flashy and oversharing my every move on social media. But I enjoy my life.”
She said she has been dressing less sexy these days.
“I don’t know if it’s the fact that my husband has voiced that sometimes too sexy is just overkill and he’s not comfortable with that,” she said. “I listen to him and understand him. Still, at the end of the day, he always gives me the freedom to be and do what I want.”
Viewers of her family’s E! reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” witnessed Kanye West clashing with his wife over her form-fitting outfit for the Met Ball.
He said the outfit was too sexy and it affected his soul and spirit when she dressed provocatively.
She told The Cut she’s “kind of had this awakening myself” about how she dresses.
“I realized I could not even scroll through Instagram in front of my kids without full nudity coming up on my feed pretty much all the time,” Kardashian West said. “And I definitely contributed to that.”
She pointed out her now-famous Paper magazine cover which “broke the internet” and showed her oiled up and nude.
Her new role as a criminal justice reform advocate also has factored in as well.
“I also did think, like, okay, I’m here in the White House and then the next day I was posting, like, a crazy bikini selfie,” she said. “And I was thinking, I hope they don’t see this. I have to go back there next week.”
