Jordan Ayew is a good holder of the ball who links up play very well. He dribbles so well and knows how to draw fouls from his opponents. Drop the hate for the lad, he’s one of Ghana’s best playmakers.
Alidu Seidu, Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku, Mohammed Salisu, and Baba Rahman made up the back five. Tariq Lamptey and Gideon Mensah replace Seidu and Baba Rahman, and Djiku moves to the bench.

The forward who was introduced in the last fifteen minutes was partly responsible for one of the goals Ghana conceded as he gave the ball away twice.
His display infuriated some Ghanaians who lashed out at him for his performance which they believe was below expectations.
Having a bite of the issue during an interview, Totti Laryea observed that Jordan Ayew’s failure to warm up properly was the cause of his poor start to the game.
“Jordan did not warm up well. When he was instructed to warm up, he did so very slowly so it took him a while to come alive in the game.
“Unfortunately for him and Ghana, his lack of preparedness cost the country two goals that could have been avoided. Our players need to listen to their coaches and warm up well when they are asked to,” he said.
Totti Laryea in an earlier interview with Angel FM ahead of the tournament offered that the lack of adequate warm-up could be blamed for the recent spate of injuries to Ghanaian players.
” Most Ghanaian players don’t take warm-up seriously…. but the most important thing is, before going on the field to play, the first thing to do is to do good warm up…You have to open your muscles before playing.
” Most of the injuries that the players suffer is because they didn’t warm up well…that is why most times coaches would tell players on the bench to warm up before going on the field.
“Yes, I’m ready to become the fitness coach for any of the national teams…For now, though Ghana is filled with many good players, they lack the physical presence needed in playing football…so if I am assigned the fitness coach, my expertise would really help the national team to win laurels”.He said
Totti, who is the owner of Train Like a Pro Gh stamina Centre in Accra recently acquired his CAF license D certificate at the Ghana Man Soccer Center at Prampram.

Crystal Palace attacker Jordan Ayew has been included in Ghana’s final squad for the 2022 World Cup which will be held in Qatar from November 20th to December 18th.
In 2006, the Marseille-born forward joined Olympique Marseille as a prospect. In 2009, he signed a three-year professional deal with Marseille. Jordan Ayew made his senior squad debut on December 16, 2009, in a league match against Lorient, scoring the equalizer. Marseille eventually won the game 2-1.
On April 27, 2011, Ayew scored his second goal against Nice at the Stade Vélodrome, in a match in which his elder brother André Ayew scored a hat-trick. Jordan and André both made their UEFA Champions League debuts on November 1, 2011, against Premier League heavyweights Arsenal.
The 31-year-old is 182cm tall. Jordan Ayew prefers to play with his right foot.
Ayew joined second-tier side Lorient on 28 July 2014, he signed a four deal with the club. After 31 appearances for Lorient, he joined Aston Villa on a five-year deal for £8 million. He scored his first goal for the club on 24 October 2015 against Swansea City.
He moved to Swansea City during the winter transfer window in January 2017. After 50 appearances and eight goals, Jordan Ayew signed for Crystal Palace on loan in 2018.
Ayew made the move permanent on July 25, 2019, with a £2.5 million three-year agreement from Swansea City. Ayew scored his first goal of the season in the first half against Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 24, 2019.
Ayew made his senior debut for Ghana on September 5, 2010, in a 3-0 AFCON Qualification win against Swaziland at the Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba, Swaziland. Ayew scored his first and second international goals in a 2014 World Cup qualifying match victory over Lesotho on June 1, 2012, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
According to Transfermarkt Jordan Ayew’s current market value is six million euros. His contract with Crystal Palace runs until 30th June 2023.
Two of the three sons—Andre Dede Ayew and Jordan Ayew—of one of the greatest players to have ever represented Ghana’s Black Stars, the maestro Abedi Ayew, seem to consistently incite conflict among Ghanaians whenever the Black Stars are involved in a match.
Some fans contend that they no longer play well enough to merit call-ups. These calls ought to go to fresh faces who are more capable and ready to compete. Others believe that since they are two of our most crucial players, their call-ups are merited.
There shouldn’t, in my opinion, be such a significant rift over the brothers’ selection for Ghana’s World Cup team. I’ll explain why.
Dede Ayew
The older of the two, Dede Ayew, made his international debut for Ghana in 2007 while still a teenager. He has now progressed to captain the Black stars. He has 109 caps and has scored 23 goals for his country. Nobody embodies commitment and passion more than Dede Ayew, the team’s current captain.
He is constantly willing to put in a lot of effort and sweat to ensure the success of the nation. A player’s call-up to his national team is always an honor, and Dede always gives his best effort when he receives that call-up. His leadership skills and drive to inspire his teammates to step up their game when they are struggling are excellent qualities to have on the team.
Many spectators mock him and label him “choirmaster” for his clapping and hand motions on the field, failing to recognize the psychological impact it may have on the players. As team captain, he also serves as the coach’s mouthpiece. When a player makes a mistake that costs the team a goal or wastes a significant scoring opportunity, he serves as the initial source of encouragement for the players.
Earning over 100 caps for Ghana is no small feat. He has played in two FIFA World Cups (2010 and 2014), as well as seven Africa Cup of Nations (2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021), helping them finish runners-up in 2010 and 2015, and was top goalscorer at the latter tournament.
This demonstrates the caliber of player he is and the range of experience he brings to the team. No other squad member has this much international tournament experience. Dede Ayew has played for teams who have won championships and teams that have faced relegation throughout his club career.
He worked hard for victory in relegation battles and scored several crucial goals when it mattered most. Although the Black Stars group includes opponents like Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea, it is never impossible. He is a very good option off the bench when the stars are chasing the game, even if he is not named in the starting 11. His heading ability is very underrated. He can move well off the ball to attack the proper gaps for crosses and even tower over larger, taller defenders to score goals.
Jordan Ayew
The youngest of the three Ayew brothers, Jordan, made his senior debut for Ghana in a 2010 victory against Swaziland in an AFCON Qualification match. Since then, he has consistently played for the national side. He has 83 total caps for the Black Stars and has scored 19 goals, 4 less than his brother Dede. Jordan is a dependable player for Crystal Palace at the club level, starting 10 games and substituting in the other 3 this season.
This demonstrates his level of involvement. He plays a very tactical role in assisting players like Wilfried Zaha to succeed, as can be shown by looking at some of his games this season. When Jordan Ayew is played on the right wing, Zaha remains high and wide as the danger on the counterattack, therefore giving Jordan greater defensive responsibilities. When Palace decides to defend in a mid or low block, Jordan tucks into midfield as needed. He is a crucial member of Patrick Viera’s team thanks to his tactical prowess.
Jordan can be utilized similarly or more offensively for the national team because he can also play as a striker. When switching plays or struggling to build out of defense, his holdup play might make him a viable target for long balls. There is no truth to the many Ghanaians’ complaints that he is sluggish and lazy.
He is among the most diligent forwards you will come across. His dedication and perseverance make him a very special profile to have in front of the press. Whatever your personal opinion of the brothers may be, if they are not called up, their very specific profiles will be missed.
With so many new players on the team, Andre Dede Ayew’s leadership, wisdom, and passion are desperately needed. Players who have participated in international competitions before and have excelled should absolutely be included because more than half of the players will be making their debuts there.
Jordan Ayew also possesses the tactical adaptability to enable the coach to make specific tactical modifications throughout a game as needed.
All in all, you don’t just get rid of your captain, your most experienced players, and two of your top scorers when heading into a tournament. It is essential to gradually replace older players who aren’t providing their best while giving new players time and encouragement to step into those large shoes as the team continues to establish a solid foundation for the years to come. New and young players are frequently overwhelmed by too much pressure.
To sum up, the Ayew brothers always play with passion for the Black Stars because they love their country. Whatever the opinions of the supporters, if they are not included in the squad, they will be missed during the world cup.
The debate on whether or not Jordan Ayew should be dropped from the Black Stars starting eleven in the 2022 FIFA World Cup brought about a heated debate in this episode of the GhanaWeb Mundial.
GhanaWeb reporter, Emmanuel Enin argued the playing style of the Crystal Palace player has evolved from being the main man in front to being a winner who does the dirty work for his team to win.
According to Emmanuel Enin, the narrative that Jordan Ayew should be dropped because he is not getting the goals shouldn’t be entertained because his work tatter helps the team more.
However, Romeo believes that Jordan Ayew is being pampered too much in the team because the technical handlers have decided to create a position for him at the right-wing position when there are better players like Joseph Paintsil for that position.
He urged coach Otto Addo to push Jordan Ayew upfront and see if he can really compete for the number 9 spot ahead of Inaki Williams because he is not a better winger than Joseph Paintsil and the other Ghanaians wingers.
Emmanuel Enin and Ambassador Romeo joined Joel Eshun as guests on this episode of the GhanaWeb Mundial show.
Ghana striker, Jordan Ayew is set to sign a new two-year deal at Crystal Palace.

He is expected to feature against Newcastle United in the EFL Cup tonight.
The striker has been named in Ghana’s provisional squad for the Mundial in Qatar but he is expected to make the final 26-man squad for the tournament that is expected to be named on November 14 by Otto Addo, who is the head coach of the Black Stars.
Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo is expected to name his final squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the coming days.
This will be a massive cut down from the 55-man provisional list released on Friday, November 2.
FIFA has set November 14 as the deadline for all 32 participating countries to release final squads.
However, 3 countries- Japan, Costa Rica, and Brazil have already named their final squads for the tournament due to start on November 20.
The Black Stars have a tall order as they have been pitted against Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay in Group H of the World Cup.

Ghana legend Dan Owusu has denied Andre and Jordan Ayew below belt performance comment and has therefore called on the public to treat it with the needed contempt it deserves.
Earlier report in the media suggested the former Ghana forward has expressed displeasure about the performance of the experience Black Stars attackers ahead of the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
But Dan Owusu, who had an enviable career for both club and country rubbished such report, saying he was misquoted.
“I never said the Ayew brothers’ performance is below belt, I was misquoted. I will entreat the public to treat it with the needed contempt it deserves.” he told Footballghana.com in an interview.
“My field is goal scoring and that is where I am keen about. I was of the opinion that, if the strikers are able to score goals, Ghana will go far in the tournament, I didn’t single out the Ayew brothers”
“I only urged them to die for the country because they are also strikers. I just want them to score goals for us because that is the most important thing. Those who did that want to get more engagement on their websites”

Southampton improved significantly in the second half and were unlucky not to find an equaliser as Che Adams and Stuart Armstrong both went close and Palace nervously held on to the three points.
The defeat ends a run of three Premier League matches unbeaten for Southampton, who held then league-leaders Arsenal to a 1-1 draw last week.
Ayew has made 13 appearances for Crystal Palace across all competitions so far this season.

The 31-year-old has been one of the standout players for Palace this season and was instrumental in their goalless draw at Leicester City on Sunday.
“Jordan is the type of player that is happy to be on the field regardless of his position,” the former Arsenal midfielder said as quoted by club website. “He is going to be giving 100 percent to the team.
“He is one of those players that you call a team player. On the pre-season tour, we tried him for around 15-20 minutes in central midfield and he did really well.
“We had a bit of a conversation on that and he liked to be around those positions as well, so that gave us a bit more tactical flexibility – but I like to have players in their best positions and his best position is on the right-hand side.”

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also scored his first Chelsea goal on his Premier League return after Odsonne Edouard had poked Palace into an early lead.
However, there was controversy surrounding Aubameyang’s goal as it was set up by Thiago Silva, who Palace felt should have been sent off for a deliberate handball which denied Jordan Ayew a possible goalscoring opportunity.
Ayew has made seven league appearances for Crystal Palace this season and provided two assists in the process.
The premeditated handball by Thiago Silva against Crystal Palace did not result in a red card, which has angered Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew.
The 38-year-old defender got into a fight with Ayew during the first half when the Blues were on the back foot.
Just within the west Londoners’ half, the two engaged in a scuffle. Ayew would have had plenty of space to run in behind Chelsea’s backline when Silva went down under pressure from the Palace forward and, in classic modern football fashion, the Brazil international clawed the ball away from Ayew.
“I don’t understand – this year is really inconsistent,” Ayew said as quoted by the club’s website. “I don’t understand but I don’t want to say too much. It’s the past and my objective is to focus on the next game.
“It’s the game, and the Premier League is ruthless. From my opinion, that was the turning point in the game and that’s it, it’s football.
“We should have taken a point. We weren’t far but we need to keep working and going in the right direction and pushing to win games.
“We just need to focus on our next game, try to win and we will take it from there.”
After the international break in September, the Black Stars players came under scrutiny and received criticism.
Nearly every player on the team was criticized after Ghana’s allegedly lackluster performances against Brazil and 139th-ranked Nicaragua.
However, certain players have faced more backlash and criticism than others, and people will have differing views on whether or not they should be included in the final World Cup roster.
Other Ghanaians, however, believe the Crystal Palace forward brings more to the team than just goals, and thus his presence is required.
Felix Afena Gyan
The critics have claimed that Felix Afena-Gyan is too young and inexperienced to lead the Black Stars’ attacking line. He should thus be sacrificed.
While some believe he can lead the line, the Black Stars are short on playmakers who can feed him the ball.
Issahaku Fatawu
Many Ghanaians believe that, despite having a high ceiling, Issahaku Fatawu should be dropped from the squad. Some argue that his play lacks maturity and that he should be allowed to develop at Sporting Lisbon before being drafted back into the national team.
Others believe he has a lot to offer the team but appears to be overburdened by his starting spot.
Dede Ayew
Many believe the Black Stars captain has passed his prime and contributes little to the team when he plays. As a result, he should be dropped from the starting lineup or the team entirely.
Another school of thought holds that Ayew’s experience is essential in the team, if for no other reason. In addition, given his goal-scoring record against the available attackers, playing offensive right behind the striker will be ideal because he is potent.
Dede has scored 73 goals in 107 appearances for the Black Stars.
Baba Rahman
Baba Rahman has not been a better version of himself in recent Black Stars games, and some Ghanaians believe he should not be with the team for the World Cup.
Meanwhile, some believe that betting on Gideon Mensah, Baba’s backup, is a huge risk. At least, Baba has seen it all and could weather the storm when the going gets tough.
Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has revealed that he could play Jordan Ayew in the centre of midfield ahead of their Premier League game against Chelsea on Saturday.
Ayew shined as a central midfielder when the Eagles played out a goalless draw with Newcastle United before the international break.
The 31-year-old later took take the centre-forward position after the introduction of Michael Olise.
“Jordan played that role when we went on tour so knows the responsibility of the position, and that gives me good options,” Vieira told the club website.
“There’s an option on the table to play him there. He was fantastic when he played there, is an intelligent player and is prepared to sacrifice himself for the team. When he went centrally that gave us really good balance.”
“Tough place to come: a big atmosphere and we needed to defend well as a team. We did it well and fully deserve the point. They’re a really strong side and this is one team you can count on to play European football.”

The 28-year-old has been a key man for the London based club scoring nine goals for the club in the ongoing season.
Jordan struggled to make an impact at the club after joining the club on loan from Swansea City last season before joining the club permanently this season.
The former Aston Villa man endured a torrid time at the club during his loan spell but has been able to fight away out to be the star man of the club.
“I’m grateful to the whole club,” Ayew tells Sky Sports before reeling off the names of manager Roy Hodgson, assistant Ray Lewington, chairman Steven Parish and sporting director Dougie Freedman.
“They are the ones who trusted me and had the belief in me to sign me permanently,” he adds. “Since I came to this football club, they have been so supportive and so good to me.
“The only thing I could do was just try to go on the pitch, perform and do my best for the team. Thank God, things have changed a bit for me this season.”
Ayew has started all but one of their 32 Premier League games this season.
During the Crystal Palace against Burnely, Jordan left Burnley’s Josh Brownhill in a heap after catching the midfielder with a forearm in the second half of the Premier League encounter.
The incident was checked by VAR who deemed Ayew’s actions not worthy of violent conduct.
Speaking on the VAR decision Roy Hodgson said”They (VAR) had a good look at it and I can only assume they decided there wasn’t a deliberate attempt to elbow the player,”
“He has got his arm across to protect the ball. I am convinced he was not attempting in any way to elbow the player but it was one of those hairy situations because you never know these days how they are going to be judged,” he added.
“I am pleased the decision was made not to punish him,”
“I am convinced it was an attempt to turn and protect the ball rather than an attempt to injure the defender who was climbing over him,” he concluded.
Rangers legend, Ally McCoist says it was a correct decision not to have sent off Jordan Ayew during Crystal Palace’s 1-0 defeat against Burnley on Monday.
Early on in the second half, VAR closely checked a potential red card for the Ghana striker after he appeared to elbow Burnley’s Josh Brownhill in the face with the scoreline at 0-0.
But after review at the Selhurst Park, VAR decided not to punish Ayew and McCoist believes it was the right call.
Speaking after the final whistle on Amazon Prime Video, McCoist said: ‘I think he gave the referee an opportunity to make a decision. It was stupidity, absolutely.
‘But where I’m watching it, I think he sticks his arm up. I think he runs into his forearm, I don’t think it’s an elbow to the face. I understand on another day he could have been sent off.
He added: ‘I certainly think he sticks his forearm up and he gives the referee the opportunity to make a decision. I think he is a fortunate boy but I think it was the correct decision.’
And during the game, the former Scotland international backed Ayew up by claiming he was just trying to protect the ball.
While VAR checked for violent conduct, McCoist argued: ‘I think he is just trying to protect it. He definitely catches him with his left forearm, of that there is no doubt. I don’t think he tries to play his arm into his face.
‘I think he is definitely trying to hold him off there, catching him with the left arm but I genuinely don’t think there is any real malice. He definitely doesn’t try to hit him in the face with his arm, just tries to shove him out the road and protect him.’
But while McCoist labelled it the correct decision, both Lee Dixon and Clinton Morrison insist that Ayew was very fortunate to escape any punishment.
Former Arsenal and England right-back Dixon said: ‘I think he is lucky’.
Meanwhile, ex-Crystal Palace forward Morrison added: ‘Yes I’d have to agree with you. He is very lucky.
‘And you know why he is lucky? He has a look. Sometimes as a centre forward, you do put your hand out there but you can see he has had a look and wants to get in Brownhill’s face, so he is a lucky boy that he managed to stay on the pitch.’
Despite getting away with one, Ayew couldn’t inspire Palace to glory at Selhurst Park on Monday night.
