Jerome Boateng’s mother mails lawyer, tells lawyer her son has been abusing women for years

As legal proceedings resume for the alleged assault against his ex-girlfriend, Jerome Boateng’s mother has made startling claims, asserting that her son “has been abusing women for years.”

This revelation surfaced in an email sent to a Berlin lawyer on March 25, 2021.

The statement follows the tragic death of Kasia Lenhardt, Boateng’s former girlfriend, who took her own life on February 9, 2021, in Berlin.

According to the German publication Spiegel, Boateng’s mother claimed: “My son has been mentally and physically abusing women for years, now Kasia Lenhardt has taken her own life and he still doesn’t want to face the consequences of his behaviour.”

Spiegel’s investigation into Kasia Lenhardt’s death has unearthed compelling evidence supporting allegations of violence within her relationship with Jerome Boateng.

Forensic analysis of Lenhardt’s iPhone and extensive audio messages reportedly corroborate her accounts of abuse.

Additionally, it has emerged that Lenhardt allegedly intended to file a complaint against Boateng for bodily harm shortly before her untimely death.

Chat messages retrieved from Lenhardt’s communications paint a disturbing picture of the alleged abuse she endured.

As early as October 2019, Lenhardt documented instances of Boateng’s purported violence, detailing injuries such as broken thumbs and hematomas inflicted by him.

Speaking to Spiegel, Boateng’s lawyer explained: “Due to ongoing proceedings, it is currently not possible for our client to respond to your questions in detail. Therefore, fundamentally: You are simply misinformed to a large extent; In addition, they are apparently only provided with selective information. He never physically attacked.”

In 2021, Boateng was convicted of assaulting and insulting his former partner during a holiday in the Caribbean five years prior. A district court upheld the ruling in November 2022 but reduced the original fine from €1.8 million to €1.2 million.

However, last September, the Bavarian Supreme Court overturned Boateng’s conviction for physical assault due to procedural errors. Now, Bild reports that a new trial is scheduled to begin on June 14 in a Munich regional court.

  • At least I was able to prove myself – Jerome Boateng after failed come back to Bayern Munich

At least I was able to prove myself – Jerome Boateng after failed come back to Bayern Munich

Experienced defender Jerome Boateng faced a pivotal moment when his eagerly awaited comeback to Bayern Munich took an unforeseen downturn during the summer transfer window.

The 32-year-old, set for a reunion with the Bundesliga champions following the expiration of his contract with Olympique Lyon, engaged in intensive training with Bayern as discussions surrounding his re-signing gathered momentum.

In a surprising twist that left football pundits perplexed, the club ultimately decided against bringing back the seasoned Bayern veteran.

“On the contrary, I’m grateful that I was able to train and prove myself. Maybe that will pay off for me in the future. But I can say that I would have liked to have done it,” Boateng said.

“I see myself going abroad in the future after things didn’t work out with FC Bayern, preferably from the second half of the season onwards. Italy, Spain, I’m open to a lot of things,” he added.

  • German footballer Boateng fined for assaulting ex-girlfriend

The German national football team player Boateng had appealed an initial conviction. He was found guilty of assaulting his former partner following the team’s disqualification from the 2018 World Cup.

German footballer Jerome Boateng was ordered to pay a fine of €1.2 million ($1.17 million) on Wednesday, after a German court upheld his conviction of assaulting his former girlfriend in 2018.

Boateng was initially sentenced to a fine of €1.8 million in 2021. He had denied the accusation and appealed the sentence.

The Munich court confirmed he was guilty of the assault on Wednesday, but his fine was reduced in line with the defendant’s drop in net income since the original sentence.

The prosecution had sought an 18-month suspended prison sentence, the defense had argued for acquittal.

A further appeal is still possible, but the process must begin within a week.

    What happened during the assault?

The assault for which Boateng has been convicted took place on a luxury holiday in the Caribbean with his former girlfriend, following Germany’s knock-out of the 2018 World Cup’s group stage.

She accused the footballer of punching her during an argument, causing her to momentarily lose her breath. The court on Wednesday said it considered this claim accurate.

“To the court’s conviction, the accused threw a cooler bag in the direction of the co-accuser causing them pain during an argument on a holiday visit to the Caribbean. In the further course of this evening, the accused caused an eye injury to the co-accuser during a physical altercation and caused further injuries. In these instances, the co-accuser was also insulted,” the court ruling read.

In Boateng’s favor, the court pointed to his clean past criminal record and the fact that the incident took place some time ago.

The couple share two twin daughters.

Boateng was part of the German football team which played in the 2014 World Cup, which Germany won, and the 2018 World Cup.

Boateng’s football career thrived for a decade with the German Bayern Munich club, before he moved to the French club Lyon in 2021.

  • ‘We have 80 million coaches again’ – Former Germany defender Boateng defends national team

Former Germany defender Jerome Boateng has laughed off criticism of the national team ahead of the World Cup in Qatar, joking there are “80 million national coaches”.

Germany’s 3-3 Nations League draw with England on Monday meant they finished third in Group A3, having won just one of their six matches.

Their shaky recent performances and failure to reach the Nations League’s final four have led to questions being asked of manager Hansi Flick.

But Boateng, who played 76 times for Germany between 2009 and 2018, believes fans should reserve judgement of the team until the World Cup is over.

“Shortly before the World Cup we have 80 million national coaches again,” Boateng wrote in an Instagram story, alongside a laughing emoji.

“We have a strong team, we can beat any opponent and become world champions. We have young players in all positions.

“How about approaching the World Cup in a positive way and not criticising the team and bringing in unrest?

“Stay positive and support the team together. After the World Cup you can add your two cents again.”

After 10 successful years at Bayern Munich, the centre-back signed a two-year deal to join French Ligue 1 side Lyon last week on a free transfer but is back in Munich to face the allegations in court.

Boateng denies claims he injured his ex-girlfriend, named as Sherin S., during a heated argument while the pair were on holiday with their daughters three years ago.

A verdict is expected to be returned later today and if found guilty, Boateng could be fined or jailed for up to five years.

The original date for the hearing was postponed last December because a witness was unable to appear due to the Covid-19 virus.

Boateng has millions of followers on social media platforms.

He and Sherin S. are locked in a separate on-going legal battle over custody of their twins.

Boateng has so far faced a turbulent year.

After making 363 appearances for Bayern, winning nine Bundesliga and two Champions League titles, Boateng’s contract was not extended when it expired in June before he was snapped up by Lyon.

He was a key part of the Germany squad which won a fourth World Cup crown in Brazil but has not played for his country since being axed by former German coach Joachim Loew in March 2019.

However, Boateng still hopes to add to his 73 international appearances under Loew’s successor Hansi Flick, his former coach at Bayern Munich, who masterminded the Bavarian giants claiming a treble of titles in 2019/20.

The son of a German mother and Ghanaian father, he found himself at the centre of a debate over integration when he was attacked for his skin color by the leader of Germany’s far-right party in 2016.

Germany’s leader Angela Merkel got involved and invited Boateng to an event at the chancellery, where she made a point of telling Boateng’s father, who was also there, “You have a great son, you can be proud”.
