  • Gucci Mane calls for investigation into Pooh Shiesty’s treatment in prison

Gucci Mane has called for an investigation into Pooh Shiesty’s treatment in prison.

“We do not pay attention to how inmates in the US are treated!” Gucci wrote in an Instagram post that he captioned, “This is unacceptable!”

He explained that the incarcerated Florida rapper, who was sentenced to five years and 3 months in prison in April after he pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy charges, has been sent to the United States Penitentiary Pollock (USP Pollock) in Grant Parish, Louisiana, which is extremely far from his home. While there, Gucci says the rapper is facing extreme conditions.

“@PoohShiesty has been sent to a prison over 1500 miles from his home, 23 hr lock down and given empty food trays,” Gucci continued. “USP Pollack [sic] should be investigated immediately.” In the caption of the post, he tagged President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, and included the hashtags, “#movepooh” and “#prisonreform.”

Shiesty was transferred from Turner Guilford Night Correctional Center in Miami to the USP Pollock earlier this year, and is currently expected to carry out the remaining years of his sentence there. In May, it was confirmed that the Memphis native will be on supervised release for three years following his sentence, and he won’t be permitted to see any of his co-defendants or gang members during that time.

The rapper is behind bars in connection with a South Florida shooting that took place in October 2020. He was originally facing eight years in prison for the alleged shooting of 28-year-old Brandon Cooper, but accepted a plea deal for a reduced sentence.

  • Takeoff’s killing: Details from the coroner’s report and Offset’s subtle tribute

New details regarding the death of Takeoff have been revealed as the artist continues to be mourned.

Takeoff, who came to fame as one-third of the platinum-selling rap group Migos, was shot and killed early Tuesday at a private party in Houston, Texas.

    He was 28.

The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office listed the manner of death as homicide with “penetrating gunshot wounds of head and torso into the arm” stated as the cause of his death.

A 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were also injured. Sgt. Michael Arrington of the homicide division told reporters Tuesday that they both were doing ok.

The shooting death of Takeoff, who was known as the quiet, low-key member of his group, which included his uncle Quavo, is the latest high-profile death of a hip-hop artist.

His former group mate and longtime friend Offset has not spoken publicly about Takeoff’s death, but on Wednesday he changed the avatar on his verified Instagram account to a photo of Takeoff with a white heart.

A number of celebrities have paid tribute to the slain artist, including, Drake, Gucci Mane, Machine Gun Kelly and Beyoncé, who changed the landing page of her site to a photo of him.

Takeoff seemed aware of the potential danger that rappers sometimes face,

During a conversation on the “Drink Champs” podcast that recently streamed, he and Quavo talked to hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN about their new album, “Only Built for Infinity Links.”

Talk turned security and the murders of fellow artists Pop Smoke and PnB Rock. Takeoff said, “You’ve got to be careful with social media now.”

“You gotta watch what you post because even though you’re just trying to show off and show your fans stuff, it’s people that follow you and watch you that [have] bad intentions and don’t want the best for you. They’re looking at your page and see you every day,” he said. “That’s why I don’t even really post like that, or if I do, I post after I left the spot. I post tomorrow or the next day and you think I’m at a location. But nah, I’m at the crib.”

Authorities are asking for the witnesses to come forward and provide information in hopes of arresting the person or people responsible.

  • Baby Racks responds after Gucci Mane signed and dropped him from 1017 in one day

Gucci Mane announced Wednesday that Baby Racks was signed to his 1017 Records and subsequently dropped in a matter of one day.

“Congratulations to @Babyracks1017 first artist to get signed and dropped in a day,” he wrote. “That dude is not signed to 1017.”

Congratulations to @Babyracks1017 first artist to get signed and dropped in a day 🤦🏿‍♂️ that dude is not signed to 1017.

    — Gucci Mane (@gucci1017) November 2, 2022

The bizarre turn of events came with no explanation from Gucci Mane. According to XXL, Baby Racks responded to Gucci’s tweet on his now private account. “Congratulations to babyracks appreciate the video appreciate flying me and my team out I appreciate that check Atlantic records sent thank you Gucci,” he wrote, along with a deuces emoji.

Racks also shouted out Yo Gotti, Jeezy, Pierre “P” Thomas, and Rick Ross in the same tweet in an attempt to secure a new deal since he’s a free agent now.

XXL reports Baby Racks posted a series of tweets, which still include “1017” on the handle, where he made some inappropriate remarks about the city of Houston in wake of the death of Takeoff prior to his dismissal from the label. “I’m definitely not fw houston after DONT BOOK ME CAUSE BABY RACKS AINT COMING,” he wrote.

“Y’all mad cause I said I ain’t coming to Houston lmao fuck Houston,” Racks continued.

Baby Racks also tweeted a distasteful reference to the Migos’ song “Versace,” writing, “VERSACE VERSACE WE BROUGHT THAT SHIT BACK AND YOU NIGGAS IS LAME.”

Baby Racks dropped a video for the Gucci Mane-featured song “Look Ma I Did It” last month. Check it out up top.
